Abstract: A method for controlling thermal conductivity between two thermal masses includes thermally contacting a first conduction body with a heat source, thermally contacting a second conduction body with a heat sink, and thermally contacting the second conduction body with the first conduction body by moving the first conduction body between a first position and a second position with a thermal expansion component. The thermal expansion component moves the first conduction body between the first position and the second position at a predetermined temperature and heat is conducted from the heat source to the heat sink through the first and second conduction bodies.

Abstract: A system includes a burn flow line and a flow divider valve in fluid communication with the burn flow line to split flow from the burn flow line to a primary line and to a secondary line for supplying fuel to a set of primary engine nozzles and to a set of secondary engine nozzles, respectively. A sensor operatively connected to the flow divider valve to produce a feedback signal indicative of flow split between the primary line and the secondary line. A controller is operatively connected to receive the feedback signal from the senor, compare the feedback signal to a stored flow split value for a mismatch, and output an alert message upon detecting the mismatch.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a system for monitoring a mission. The system includes a digital ecosystem (DE) associated with the mission and positioned at a remote station. The DE, responsive to sensed data associated with deployed products positioned locally with the mission, generates performance data associated with the deployed products. A processor is provided and includes local processor resources located at the mission, along with remote processor resources at the remote station. The processor operations are performed and include executing a first cognitive algorithm to, responsive to a portion of the performance data, generate an initial cognitive output associated with an initial cognitive output action; prior to initiating the initial cognitive output action associated with the initial cognitive output, displaying to a user the initial cognitive output; and responsive to receiving user feedback on the initial cognitive output, executing post-user-feedback operations based on the user feedback.

Abstract: A variable frequency starter generator (VFSG) system includes a VFSG having a start mode and a generate mode, a permanent magnet generator (PMG) and a main generator section and an exciter section. The system also includes a controller electrically connected to the VFSG. The controller flow start mode three phase electrical power from aircraft power to the exciter of the VFSG in the start mode and flows single phase electrical power to the exciter of the VFSG in the generate mode. The controller includes: an input active rectifier that receives input AC power and converts it to DC power and provides it to across a positive rail and negative rail; an output inverter coupled to an output of the input active rectifier; and one or more line inductors connected along one or both of the positive rail and negative rail between the input active rectifier and the output inverter.
