The electronic device includes: a host; a power supply component, for providing electric power to the host and the solid state drive; and the solid state drive including a control unit electrically connected to the host through a bus, a cache memory electrically connected to the control component, and a flash memory electrically connected to the control component. When a remaining power of the power supply component decreases to a threshold value, the host controls the solid state drive to enter a data secure mode and disables the cache memory; and when the remaining power of the power supply component is above the threshold value, the host controls the solid state drive to enter a high performance mode and enables the cache memory.

    摘要: A garbage collection control method for a solid state drive includes the following steps. Firstly, when a garbage collection is started by the solid state drive, a type of a write command from a host is judged. If the write command is not a sequential write command, a first type garbage collection is performed for obtaining a released space smaller than one free block space from a flash memory, and the write command is executed to store a write data into the flash memory. If the write command is the sequential write command, a second type garbage collection is performed for obtaining a released space larger than one free block space from the flash memory, and the write command is executed to store the write data into the flash memory.

    摘要: A solid state storage device receives a device sleep signal and a power signal from a host. The solid state storage device includes a control chip, a sleep control circuit, and a regulator. If the device sleep signal is activated, the control chip temporarily stores a system parameter into a flash memory module and then generates an acknowledge signal. The sleep control circuit receives the power signal, the device sleep signal and the acknowledge signal. If both of the device sleep signal and the acknowledge signal are activated, the sleep control circuit generates a disable state and a wake-up state. Moreover, if the power signal is received by the regulator and the sleep control circuit generates the disable state, the regulator stops providing a supply voltage to the control chip, so that the solid state storage device enters a sleep mode.
