Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques related to safeguards against separation from portable medicine delivery devices. In some embodiments, the techniques may involve monitoring a wireless connection established between a portable computing device and a portable medicine delivery device. The techniques may also involve making a determination, based on the result of the monitoring, that the portable medicine delivery device is outside a predetermined range of the portable computing device. The techniques may further involve generating a notification based on the determination. The notification may be indicative of a user of the portable computing device being unaccompanied by the portable medicine delivery device.

Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein relate to automatic association of a non-medical device with a medical device. In some embodiments, the techniques involve accessing a user account provided by a cloud-based service, retrieving first identification information that is stored to the user account and identifies a medical device via the cloud-based service, receiving second identification information from the medical device, and establishing a secure communication link with the medical device based on determining that the second identification information corresponds to or matches the first identification information.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques related to interactive guidance for medical devices. The techniques may involve identifying, by an application executing on a computing device, a user objective with respect to a medical device communicatively coupled to the computing device. The techniques may further involve obtaining state information for a current state of a graphical user interface of the medical device. The techniques may also involve generating, based on the current state of the graphical user interface, a guidance user interface comprising an ordered sequence of actuations of user input elements to achieve the identified user objective. Additionally, the techniques may involve obtaining updated state information for an updated state of the graphical user interface. The updated state information may be obtained responsive to an actuation of a user input element. Furthermore, the techniques may involve dynamically updating the guidance user interface based on the updated state information.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an infusion device can include a reservoir configured to hold a medicament, a first epicyclic gear arrangement comprising a first output, a second epicyclic gear arrangement comprising a second output, a first trocar coupled to the first output and movably coupled to a sensor electrode, and a second trocar coupled to the second output and movably coupled to an infusion cannula that is fluidically coupled to the reservoir. Actuation of the first epicyclic gear arrangement can drive linear travel of the first trocar and/or the sensor electrode, and actuation of the second epicyclic gear arrangement can drive linear travel of the second trocar and/or the infusion cannula.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques related to determination of adjustments to fluid delivery settings. The techniques may involve accessing an input meal size category, where the input meal size category is selected from among a plurality of meal size categories via a user interface; accessing a plurality of groups of historical meal events for a person, where each group of the plurality of groups is associated with a respective meal size category of the plurality of meal size categories and includes respective historical meal events for the person categorized in the respective meal size category; identifying a group, in the plurality of groups of historical meal events for the person, having an associated meal size category that matches the input meal size category; identifying a person-specific carbohydrate amount representative of the historical meal events in the identified group; and determining a bolus dosage value of insulin based on the person-specific carbohydrate amount.
