摘要: A print consumable may include a rotatable core, a roll of dispensable print substrate, and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag. The roll of the dispensable print substrate may be dispensably secured to the core. The RFID tag may be secured to the core and configured to rotate about a core axis. The RFID tag includes an RFID antenna coupled to an RFID chip. The RFID chip may include a print counter, a stock-keeping unit (SKU) code, and a consumable authentication code. A print system may include a housing, a holder to hold the print consumable, a print head, a transceiver, a trace antenna for reading an RFID tag of the print consumable, and a controller. The controller may be configured to receive a signal from the transceiver indicative of one or more of the print counter, the SKU code, and the consumable authentication code received from the RFID antenna.

摘要: Writing nib assemblies and associated writing instruments are provided herein. Writing instruments are provided including a barrel having a barrel first end and an oppositely disposed barrel second end, an ink reservoir disposed within the barrel and containing an ink composition, a feeder rod disposed within the barrel and in fluid communication with the ink reservoir, a writing nib assembly disposed at least partially within the barrel and in fluid communication with the feeder rod, and a writing nib adapter disposed at least partially within the barrel and at least partially surrounding the writing nib assembly, wherein the writing nib adapter comprises at least one slot extending from an outer surface of the writing nib adapter to the inner surface of the writing nib adapter the slot being configured to allow for the passage of gas therethrough.

摘要: A marking composition may include an aqueous carrier and thermochromic capsules. The thermochromic capsules may include a leuco dye, an activator, and a temperature regulator. The thermochromic capsules may have a volume average size effective to resist temperature-mediated discoloration at a temperature of at least up to 40° C. by dissipating heat. In some embodiments, the marking composition marks a substrate with a substantially erasable mark, for example, in response to frictional contact with an eraser.

摘要: Embodiments of the disclosure can include writing instruments, nibs for writing instruments, and methods of making the same. In one embodiment, the writing instrument includes a reservoir; an ink solution comprising a pigment, the ink solution being housed within the reservoir; a nib disposed at an end of the reservoir and plugging an opening of the reservoir such that the reservoir is closed, wherein a tip of the nib extends outside of the reservoir; and a filament extending within the reservoir, the filament being in fluid communication with a portion of the nib within the reservoir, such that the ink solution travels along the filament and through the nib, by capillary action, wherein the nib and filament are formed such that no more than 50 percent of the pigment present in the nib and filament flow into the reservoir outside of the nib and filament when the writing instrument is stored with the nib up for a period of one day.
