The object of the invention is to enable a hearing apparatus and more particularly a hearing device to be controlled automatically in a more reliable manner by means of an external device. For that purpose there is provided in the hearing apparatus a transponder detection unit for detecting a transponder and providing a corresponding detection signal. Signal processing in the hearing apparatus is performed as a function of the detection signal. An external device, e.g. a telephone is physically joined to the transponder. This enables the hearing apparatus to detect the presence of the external device and control its own signal processing accordingly.

To this end, it is provided to establish or predetermine a frequency range which is susceptible to feedback. From an input signal which has a spectral component in the frequency range susceptible to feedback, a predeterminable component is substituted with a synthetic signal. Mixing-in a synthetic signal is also possibly used to widen the spectrum of an input signal, which is limited.

To this end, a hearing apparatus is proposed having an oscillator and a trimming facility for trimming the oscillation frequency of the oscillator. A control facility controls the oscillation frequency of the oscillator with the aid of the trimming facility in accordance with a predetermined desired value. An automatic self-trimming of a wireless transmission system in a hearing apparatus and in particular in a hearing device is thus possible.

The invention is aimed at enabling a hearing system, particularly a binaural hearing aid system, to be controlled in an easy manner, taking into account the small amount of installation space available. A hearing system is provided comprising a first hearing device and a second hearing device. The first hearing device has a permanent magnet. The second hearing device has a magnetic field sensor such that the second hearing device is controlled in a predetermined manner when the first hearing device is located in close physical proximity to the second hearing device and consequently the magnetic field sensor detects the magnetic field of the permanent magnet or a corresponding magnetic flux. The sensor signal is used in particular for switching off the second hearing device. The first hearing device preferably possesses a mirrored structure so that it is controlled or switched when it is brought closer to the second hearing device.

The aim is to be able to at least partially switch off a hearing apparatus and in particular a hearing device in a simple manner. To this end, provision is made to generate a predetermined acoustic signal through the hearing apparatus. The acoustic signal is received by a receiving device, after it has passed through an acoustic path. This acoustic path changes depending on whether the hearing apparatus is being worn or not. The hearing apparatus is at least partially switched off as a function of the received, acoustic signal. A hearing device thus automatically switches off for instance when it is not being worn.

Inductive transmission to a hearing apparatus and in particular to a hearing device is to be improved. To this end, it is proposed to equip the hearing apparatus with two or three orthogonal coils. The coil signals are added with different signs and that signal which exhibits the highest level is forwarded from the resulting signals for further processing. It is thus possible to ensure an optimum reception quality in all alignments of the hearing apparatus.
