A learning apparatus includes an input-image acquisition section that acquires a combination of a first input image representing a background and a foreground and a second input image representing the background in a mode different from that in the first input image, and a learning section that includes an estimation section to generate estimation data indicating the foreground region in the first input image in response to input of the first input image and the second input image, and that conducts learning at the estimation section on the basis of a given teacher image and the estimation data that is generated when the first input image and the second input image are inputted.

摘要： Methods and apparatus provide for: generating virtual space images by specifying from among a plurality of viewpoint positions and a plurality of directions of line of sight in the virtual space; and displaying the virtual space images on a head-mounted display, where the generating includes changing from a currently selected viewpoint position among the plurality of viewpoint positions to a newly selected viewpoint position among the plurality of viewpoint positions, which is selected in accordance with operation by a user, when generating the virtual space images in response to changing to the newly selected viewpoint position, the display control section specifies a new direction of line of sight among the plurality of directions of line of sight, and at least some of the plurality of viewpoint positions are separated from each other.

摘要： Techniques for simulating fast eye movement of a robot to mimic human eye saccade are divulged in cases of the robot eyes being moved by actuators that cannot move the eyes fast enough in real time to mimic saccade. Image capture timing is adjusted (i.e., slowed down) to track the speed of the actuators. Then, the resulting sequence of images is time-compressed back to video playback speed so that the video appears to show the robot eye undergoing saccade at human eye speeds.
