摘要： It is an object to provide an automatic banding packing machine capable of easily removing the ring of a band with a simple structure when idle banding is carried out. When the rear end side of a band is to be pulled back by band pull-back means (84), an amount of the pull-back is detected by detecting means. It is decided that idle banding of the band is carried out when a result of the detection is greater than a preset length and the band is wound around a slide table. Thereafter, the rotation of a cam shaft (41) is temporarily stopped based on a signal, whereby the timing of the pressing to be carried out by a middle presser member, which is operated after melting the superposing portion of the band by means of a heater (36), is delayed in a predetermined time.

摘要： A lower part 14L of a band way 14, which is incorporated in an arch unit 12, is separated from the other parts of the band way 14. A drive means (air cylinder) 35 supports the lower part 14L, allowing the same to move between a substantially horizontal initial position and an inclined position. A band 13 is released from the band way 14 when a packing operation starts. Thereafter, the lower part 14L is moved from the initial position to the inclined position and compressed air is applied to the guide surface 14a of the lower part 14L, thereby removing foreign matter from the band way 14. This sequence of removing foreign matter is performed in, for example, each cycle of packing operation.

摘要： A strapping machine for applying a band around an object includes a pool box in which slackened band is accumulated prior to be fed around an object by a main feed mechanism. The pool box contains a feed device which draws-in the band from a reel, and a passage-forming structure for guiding the band toward the main feed mechanism. The passage-forming structure contains a balance bar and an opposing guide arm. The balance bar is displaced by the band as the band accumulates in the passage. When the balance bar is displaced by a predetermined amount, a sensor shuts off the feed device. Thereafter, the guide arm is moved to a passage-enlarging position, whereupon the balance bar is permitted to return to its original position, enabling the feed device to resume its feeding of the band. The band thus accumulates within the enlarged passage.

摘要： A banding packing machine capable of inexpensively detecting the end of a band reel, thereby contributing to a reduction in cost. In a banding packing machine having a back pool box in a packing machine body and serving to feed an unused band (B) stored in the back pool box and a band from a band reel, the rotating speed of a touch roller is detected when a further required amount of band is being pulled out of the band reel by band feeding means. It is decided that the band is not left in the band reel if the rotating speed is not changed but the rotation is carried out at an almost constant speed, and the tip portion of the band does not arrive at the predetermined position of a band guide arch. Then, the driving operation of a normal rotating roller is stopped based on the decision signal.

A band-tightening step is performed by operating a manual tightening switch, thereby driving a drive motor and hence rotating a drive roller under manual control. A band-sealing step and a band-feeding step are automatically and sequentially performed after a tightening stop switch is operated, generating a manual-tightening end signal. It is desirable to use a mode-changing switch for switching an operating mode of the apparatus between an automatic mode and a manual mode. The manual tightening switch and the tightening stop switch are effective in the manual mode and are ineffective in the automatic mode.

摘要： A band charging apparatus for a packing machine capable of carrying out charging of a band while effectively preventing jamming of the band. In the packing machine, a band unwound from a reel is fed to a pool box by means of the band charging apparatus, to thereby be temporarily stored in the pool box. Then, the band is fed to a circumference of a package by means of a band feeding and tightening apparatus. Thereafter, the band is drawn back by means of the band feeding and tightening apparatus while a distal end of the band is kept gripped, resulting in being tightly wound on the package. The band charging apparatus includes a pool feed roller for carrying out feeding of the band to the pool box and a pool touch roller arranged so as to access to the pool feed roller through the band. Also, the band charging apparatus includes guide plates for defining a band guide path in the pool box when the band is set for charging of the band in the band feeding and tightening apparatus. The guide plates are pivotally moved in a direction of guiding the band, to thereby close the guide plates. When the band is excessively fed to the band guide path, nerve of the band in the band guide path causes the guide plates to be open, to thereby release the band guide path, resulting in the band being stored in the pool box.

摘要： An arch guide for a strapping machine comprises corner sections interconnected by linear sections. Each of those sections includes inner and outer peripheral portions disposed, respectively, closer to and farther from a center of the guide. The inner and outer portions form a guide passage for the band, the passage being open at a side facing a guide plate. The open side of the arch guide is yieldably urged against the guide plate to close the open side. The inner portion extends toward the guide plate at an inwardly directed inclination to facilitate movement of the arch guide away from the guide plate when the band is being withdrawn from the passage. A guide extends from the leading end of a linear section into a trailing end of a corner section for directing an advancing band toward the outer portion of the corner section. The outer portion of at least the linear sections are yieldable in a direction away from the inner portion in a manner increasing the height of the height of the open side of the band passage. The guide plate carries an elastic material covered by a sheet of anti-wear, anti-friction material against which the open side of the arch guide is biased.
