摘要: A muffler assembly for an exhaust system is in fluid communication with a collector via an exhaust conduit. The muffler assembly includes a primary pipe, a valve, a secondary pipe, a tuner tube and a bleed port. The primary pipe extends through an enclosed volume of the muffler. The valve is operable to restrict flow through the primary pipe. When a standing wave is present, a resonance length is defined by a length of the exhaust system that extends from the collector to the valve. The tuner tube includes an open tuner tube end in fluid communication with the primary pipe and a closed tuner tube end. The tuner tube has a tuner tube length that is substantially one-quarter of the resonance length. The bleed port is formed in the primary pipe, allowing fluid communication with the enclosed volume, and positioned downstream from open tuner tube end.

At least one opening is defined by the tubular component and extends through an inner surface and an outer surface of the tubular component. A plate is disposed on the outer surface of tubular component and covers the at least one opening. A secondary exhaust gas flow path is defined by the at least one opening in the tubular component, through a plurality of elongated flow channels, and through the outlet opening defined by the plate. The exhaust gases flowing through the secondary exhaust gas flow path are exhausted to atmosphere in a different location than the primary outlet.

摘要: A vehicle exhaust system includes a tubular component defining a primary exhaust gas flow path. At least one opening defined by the tubular component extends through an inner surface and an outer surface of the tubular component. A patch covers the at least one opening. The patch includes a plate disposed on the tubular component. The plate defines at least one flow channel to receive exhaust gases from the at least one opening and impart at least one directional change to the received exhaust gases. The plate further defines at least one outlet opening adapted to receive exhaust gases from the flow channel. A secondary exhaust gas flow path is defined through the at least one opening in the tubular component, the flow channel defined by the plate, and the outlet opening defined by the plate.

摘要: A method of producing an anti-roll moment distribution module for a vehicle comprises determining understeer characteristics of the vehicle, determining a maximum lateral acceleration of the vehicle, adjusting understeer characteristics of the vehicle based on the maximum lateral acceleration, determining reference understeer characteristics, determining a plurality of reference yaw rates based on (i) the maximum lateral acceleration and (ii) the reference understeer characteristics using a non-linear quasi static vehicle model, storing the plurality of reference yaw rates in a first look up table in the anti-roll moment distribution module, determining a plurality of feedforward contributions using the non-linear quasi static model of the vehicle. Each feedforward contribution of the plurality of feedforward contributions can be used to determine a front to total anti-roll moment distribution for the vehicle. The plurality of feedforward contributions are stored in a second look up table in the anti-roll moment distribution module.

摘要: An exhaust device includes a housing, first and second pipes, and a spacer. The first and second pipes are at least partially disposed within the housing. The first and second pipes include respective first and second surfaces. A portion of the second pipe is disposed inside the first pipe. The first and second surfaces cooperate to define an annular volume into which the spacer is disposed to prevent direct communication between the first and second pipes. One of the first and second pipes is fluidly connected to an exhaust gas inlet. The other of the first and second pipes is fluidly connected to an exhaust gas outlet. One of the first and second surfaces defines a radial indentation. The other of the first and second surfaces defines a radial protrusion. The spacer is disposed at least partially within the radial indentation and is in direct communication with the radial protrusion.

摘要: A valve assembly for an exhaust system of a vehicle. The valve assembly includes a housing, a valve shaft and a valve plate. The housing defines an inlet, an outlet, and a longitudinally exhaust gas passageway in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. The valve shaft is rotatable. The valve plate is coupled to the valve shaft and is rotatable between a first position restricting exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas passageway, and a second position whereat exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas passageway is less restricted. The first housing includes spaced apart ears integral with and laterally extending from the first housing. The ears opposing each other. The shaft includes an axis of rotation being positioned at the ears and outside of the exhaust gas passageway.
