摘要： A tie bar and guide assembly for casement windows having a roll form tie bar that snaps on to the tie bar guide without extending through it. The tie bar has locating openings that engage tabs on the tie bar guide to locate and secure the guide prior to installation. The tabs are depressed and disengaged when fasteners are used to secure the tie bar assembly to the window frame. The tie bar can include rivet locking points located close to the top and bottom of the tie bar to provide better security and increased stability for preventing water and air infiltration. The rivet locking points can be adjustable to optimize the fit of the window sash within the frame. The snap-on design reduces the overall height of the tie bar assembly thereby enabling a closer fit of the sash within the frame and reducing the required width of the window frame needed to accommodate the locking mechanism.

摘要： A casement window lock and tie bar assembly including a flexible guide pre-formed with an arcuate deflection. The guide receives a tie bar having a c-shaped cross-section. The arcuate deflection of the guide causes the guide to be frictionally held in an initial position on the longitudinal axis of tie bar. When fasteners are tightened to attach the guide to a window frame, the guide is flattened to enable the tie bar to freely slide on the guide.

The device includes a sash bracket, a limiting arm assembly with an engagement structure, and a securing structure with a selectively operable release mechanism. The securing structure receives the engagement structure of the limiting arm assembly so that the limiting arm inhibits pivoting of the sash toward the window open position beyond a distance of travel defined by a length of the limiting arm, and the engagement structure is releasable from the securing structure by operating the release mechanism so that the sash can be further pivoted toward the window open position beyond the distance of travel.

摘要： A self locating tie bar guide for use with a tie bar. The tie bar guide defines a passage into which the tie bar is received. A tie bar receiving portion is shiftable between an open orientation in which the tie bar can be inserted into the passage and a closed orientation in which the tie bar is held in the passage. A resilient engaging member that engages a prelocated opening in the tie bar is resiliently biased toward the tie bar when the receiving portion is in the open orientation. The resilient tie bar engaging member is shiftable away from the tie bar when the receiving portion is in the closed orientation by contact between a portion of the resilient engaging member and another portion of the tie bar guide.

摘要： A securing mechanism for a hinged sidelight panel. The securing mechanism includes a center latch bolt for latching the hinged sidelight panel and remote locking mechanisms for locking the hinged sidelight panel. A single lever handle is used to selectively retract the remote locking mechanisms and the latch bolt. At a first orientation of the handle, both the remote locking mechanisms and the latch bolt are engaged. At a second orientation of the handle, the latch bolt remains engaged, but the remote locking mechanisms retracted. At a third orientation, both the remote locking mechanisms and the latch bolt are disengaged. The orientation of the handle informs an observer whether the locks are engaged. In one embodiment, the full rotation is about 90°, enabling the use of longer lever handles without interference from door frames.

One of them is securable to the sash and the other of the first member and the second member being securable to the frame. A selectively releasable coupler by which the first member and the second member are couplable is shiftable between a coupled status and a released status. The first member and the second member bridge a preselected distance such that the sash is inhibited from opening beyond a predetermined distance. The coupler is releasable so that the sash can be opened beyond the predetermined distance and re-engages automatically when the sash is closed.

摘要： A multi-point latch assembly having a single adjustment point for shifting the position of two or more latching members. The latch mechanism includes a housing and a carrier assembly received in the housing. The carrier assembly includes a pair of latch hooks. A carrier position adjustment assembly operably couples the housing and the carrier assembly such that the carrier assembly is selectively shiftable in the housing with the carrier position adjustment assembly to alter the distance the latch hooks protrude from the housing when the latch hooks are positioned in the second position. An anti-slam mechanism may also be coupled with the carrier, and may be selectively shiftable with the same adjustment mechanism.
