    Abstract: Two embodiments of compact high performance induction systems for V type engines that include pairs of plenum chambers that extend over the respective cylinder banks. First pairs of runners extend from an inlet opening in each plenum chamber to an outlet opening that communicates with the cylinder of the opposite bank. Second pairs of intake passages are provided which extend from inlet openings in the respective plenum chambers to outlet openings in the cylinders of the adjacent cylinder head. The first intake passages have portions that extend through the other plenum chambers and the second intake passages communicate with the cylinders through these intermediate portions. The intermediate portions are curved and in one embodiment the second intake passages are tangential to these curved portions and in the other embodiment they are radial to it.

    Abstract: In a marine propulsion system, a controller determines a point of action of a resultant force of first propulsion devices at a stern of a hull during a parallel motion based on a target direction and a required propulsion force, controls the first propulsion devices to apply the resultant force in the target direction to the point of action, and controls a second propulsion device in front of the stern to apply a propulsion force to cancel undesired components of the resultant propulsion force. The controller moves the point of action backward as the required propulsion force increases during the parallel motion, and increases the propulsion force of one first propulsion device in a forward direction when the point of action reaches a rear limit position and the propulsion force of another first propulsion device in a backward direction reaches an upper limit propulsion force.

    Abstract: An engine-driven-DC-supply unit, including: a main component supported by a base member; and a mount member connected to the base member and supporting an engine body and an electric generator of the main component through four elastic bodies. The engine-driven-DC-supply unit is configured to convert electric power generated by the electric generator driven by the engine body to DC power, and to supply the converted DC power to an external load device. The four elastic bodies are located at four points. A distance between any two of the four points located in a first direction, which is along an axis of a crankshaft of the engine body, is larger than a distance between any two of the four points located in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction. The four points surround a barycenter of the main component in a plan view.

    Abstract: A system for flushing a cooling water pathway in a marine propulsion device includes a water control device, an electric power control device, a data communication module, and a controller. The controller controls the water control device to supply the water from a water source to the cooling water pathway to flush the cooling water pathway. The controller controls the electric power control device to supply electric power to the marine propulsion device during the flushing. The controller determines whether to end the flushing or not. When it is determined to end the flushing, the controller controls the electric power control device to stop the supply of electric power to the marine propulsion device, and controls the data communication module to notify the end of the flushing to a terminal of a user of the marine propulsion device.
