摘要： A foot rest for a post-hole digger and post-hole diggers using the foot rest are disclosed. The foot rest includes two portions, one attached to each shaft of the post-hole digger. The two portions have structure that allows them to engage one another when the two shafts of the post-hole digger are vertical. The foot rest does not extend beyond the bore diameter of the post-hole digger. Thus, in order to keep the user's feet on the relatively short foot rest, the contact surface of the foot rest may be angled. In some embodiments, the foot rest may be symmetrical, so that either side may be used as the upper surface. A post-hole digger including the foot rests typically includes at least two foot rests, spaced from one another and facing different directions along the shafts of the tool.

摘要： The present invention is a light-weight, single handle post hole digger. The single handle of the post hole digger is generally comprised of an outer elongated vertical handle and an inner elongated vertical shaft located substantially within the outer handle. The post hole digger of the present invention has two blade members used to cut into the ground and to loosen soil when in an open configuration and then used to capture and remove soil when in a closed configuration. In some embodiments, a first stationary blade member is permanently attached to the inner elongated vertical shaft by an adjustable pin or bolt and a second movable blade member is connected to the outer elongated handle via a connection rod.

摘要： A hand-operated tool includes a tool head having a central longitudinal axis, a handle extending from the tool head, a connector securing the handle to the tool head, and a central step at an upper end of the tool head and at the central longitudinal axis. A length of the handle is preferably adjustable. The handle preferably includes a handle portion forming a triangle shaped closed loop and has an upper section extending perpendicular to a central longitudinal axis of the handle portion and lower sections angularly extending from ends of the upper section to the central longitudinal axis of the handle portion. The connector preferably includes a pair of laterally spaced apart and parallel lower portions having lower ends secured to the tool head, a central portion connecting the lower portions, and an upper portion centrally connected to the central portion and the handle.

The support may be integrally secured to a shovel at the time the shovel is manufactured, or may be attached to a shovel that did not originally have a plate attached. The foot plate may be attached by welding, screws, rivets or by an adhesive. Alternatively, the foot plate may have tabs extending from a portion of the plate that may be bent under the original foot surface on the shovel to hold the plate in position. the attachment is held in place when secured to the insert.
