Abstract: An extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, comprises: at least a pressure sensor (24, 25) located in a respective measurement site on an extracorporeal blood circuit (6, 7); an electronic control unit (23) operatively connected at least to the pressure sensor (24, 25). The electronic control unit (23) is configured to perform at least the following procedure: receiving from the pressure sensor (24, 25) a signal correlated to a measured blood pressure (P1measured, P2measured) in the measurement site; correcting the blood measured pressure (P1measured, P2measured) through a mathematical correction model to obtain a blood actual pressure (Pinlet, Poutlet) in a reference site other than the measurement site. Between the reference site and the measurement site, a circuit section and, optionally, at least one additional device (18, 27, 28) is/are positioned. The mathematical correction model is a model of a pressure drop in the circuit section and, optionally, in the additional device (18, 27, 28).

Abstract: An artificial heart and lung apparatus (100) includes a roller pump (120); a blood removal line (101); a first blood transfer line (104); a blood removal rate sensor (111); a control unit (140) that performs the linked control of the roller pump (120) in correspondence with a blood removal rate; and a blood transfer rate adjustment unit (160) that instructs the roller pump (120) to transfer a blood transfer rate. The blood transfer rate adjustment unit (160) includes an operation amount input unit to which an operation amount from an arbitrary circumferential position can be input, and which outputs a pulse signal according to the input operation amount, and a counter that adds and subtracts pulse signals output from the operation amount input unit, and outputs a resultant as blood transfer rate adjustment data, and the counter performs a counting operation with respect to the circumferential position of the operation amount input unit when blood transfer control transitions to the normal control.

Abstract: A system (20) including a heater/cooler module (22) to heat/cool a first fluid in a primary circuit (28), a heat transfer fluid circuit (24) to provide a second fluid to a target device (38) to heat/cool the target device (38), and a heat exchanger (26) including at least part of the primary circuit (28) and at least part of a secondary circuit (36) through which the second fluid flows to facilitate heat transfer between the first fluid and the second fluid. The primary circuit (28) and the secondary circuit (36) are separate circuits and the first fluid and the second fluid remain separated in the system. Also, the system is modular, such that the elements can be stacked to increase heating/cooling capability and/or to increase the number of heating/cooling channels, and the system is compatible with portable applications, such as ambulance, aircraft, and helicopter applications, and with battery opera-tion and/or the use of uninterruptible power supplies.

Abstract: The photodynamic therapy device of the present disclosure is a photodynamic therapy device that irradiates light from a light source onto blood that has been taken out of a patient's body and is flowing in the blood tube, the blood having absorbed a photoreactive agent, to destroy an undesirable component in the blood or affect the component. The photodynamic therapy device includes the irradiation unit that includes a light source and irradiates the blood in the blood tube with light, and the circuit cooling block that cools the blood in the blood tube. The circuit cooling block is connected to the pump that circulates cooling water in the circuit cooling block, the reservoir tank, and the cooling unit that cools water by the water flow path for flowing the cooling water.

Abstract: A blood purification device includes a blood circuit for extracorporeally circulating blood of a patient; a liquid supply circuit for supplying a supply liquid to the blood circuit or to a blood purifier provided on the blood circuit and a waste liquid circuit for discharging the waste liquid from the blood purifier. Each of the blood circuit, the liquid supply circuit and the waste liquid circuit comprises a flexible tube. The blood purification device comprises a tube identification unit that performs a tube identification process for identifying a tube used for the blood circuit, the liquid supply circuit or the waste liquid circuit or determining whether or not there is an abnormality in the tube, based on an amount of liquid sent from a peristaltic pump provided on the blood circuit, the liquid supply circuit or the waste liquid circuit, or pressure fluctuation in the circuit, caused when driving the pump for a predetermined time.
