Abstract: An extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, comprises: at least a pressure sensor (24, 25) located in a respective measurement site on an extracorporeal blood circuit (6, 7); an electronic control unit (23) operatively connected at least to the pressure sensor (24, 25). The electronic control unit (23) is configured to perform at least the following procedure: receiving from the pressure sensor (24, 25) a signal correlated to a measured blood pressure (P1measured, P2measured) in the measurement site; correcting the blood measured pressure (P1measured, P2measured) through a mathematical correction model to obtain a blood actual pressure (Pinlet, Poutlet) in a reference site other than the measurement site. Between the reference site and the measurement site, a circuit section and, optionally, at least one additional device (18, 27, 28) is/are positioned. The mathematical correction model is a model of a pressure drop in the circuit section and, optionally, in the additional device (18, 27, 28).

Abstract: Described is a gas exchanger with a restriction element or elements to reduce gas exchange as desired to avoid hypo-capnia and hyper-oxygenation in small patients. Abstract: A container for warming fluids comprises an inlet port, an outlet port, a fluid conduit configured for fluidly communicating the inlet and outlet ports, and deflection sections. The fluid conduit has a non-constant maximum width in a direction of fluid flow through the fluid conduit. Abstract: A modular assembly for a portable hemodialysis system may include a dialysis unit, e.g., that contains suitable components for performing hemodialysis, such as a dialyzer, one or more pumps to circulate blood through the dialyzer, a source of dialysate, and one or more pumps to circulate the dialysate through the dialyzer, and a power unit having a housing that contains suitable components for providing operating power to the pumps of the dialysis unit. The power unit may be selectively connected to the dialysis unit and provide power (e.g., pneumatic power in the form of pressure and/or to vacuum) to the dialysis unit for the pumps when connected to the dialysis unit, but may be incapable of providing power to the dialysis unit when disconnected from the dialysis unit. The dialysis unit and the power unit are sized and weighted to each be carried by hand by a human.
