摘要： An intermittent catheter assembly and kit comprising an elongated introducer element formed of a flexible material adapted for insertion into a urethra during a catheterization procedure. The introducer element has at least one slit extending longitudinally along a substantial portion of its length. The catheter assembly also includes an applicator having an opening, and a sheath having a first end that is secured to the applicator about the opening. The sheath also has a second end defining a discharge opening which is inverted relative to the first end of the sheath to define inner and outer sleeve portions. The inner sleeve portion defines a flow path for urine through the discharge opening. The applicator receives the introducer element through the opening and extends the outer sleeve portion over an outer surface of the elongated introducer element to separate it from the urethra.

The package (10) has a vessel (5) which is tubular in shape allowing the urinary catheter (1) to be movably arranged in an inner volume of the vessel (5). An enveloping housing of the package entirely encloses the urinary catheter (1) when packaged. The enveloping housing has three tubular parts (2, 3, 6) of which a first and second straight part (2, 3) are of a hard plastic material, and a third part (6) is of a flexible material. The first straight (2) part is closed off at a bottom end thereof and the second straight part (3) is closeable by the cap (4) and comprises the vessel (5).

摘要： An insertion aid for catheter manipulation is disclosed. The insertion aid can be used for urinary catheters, such as hydrophilic urinary catheters for intermittent use. The insertion aid includes first and second plate-like arms arranged overlying each other and with a separation distance there between. The insertion aid also includes a resilient hinge connecting adjacent marginal edges of the plate-like arms together. At least one of the plate-like arms includes a groove on its clamping inner surface for holding a catheter shaft. The groove extends at least partly in the same direction as, and essentially parallel to, the resilient hinge, and is arranged at a distance both from the resilient hinge and from the marginal edge of the plate-like arm. Corresponding catheter set and catheter assembly are also disclosed.

摘要： A urinary catheter may include a catheter shaft and a connector coupled with the proximal end of the catheter shaft. The connector may have a first arm ending in a fluid outlet configured to allow urine to flow out of the urinary catheter and a second arm with an aperture and ending in an inflation inlet used for introducing inflation fluid into the urinary catheter. The catheter may further include a primary lumen, an inflation lumen, a retention balloon mounted to the catheter shaft proximal to a fluid inlet and over a distal filling hole, and a pilot balloon mounted on the second arm of the connector over the aperture. The pilot balloon inflates at an inflation pressure that is higher than the inflation pressure of the retention balloon and lower than a predetermined pressure threshold.

Further, an outer ring moves axially along the exterior of hollow tube and is utilized to measure the length of the urethra.

摘要： A urinary catheter assembly includes a catheter member and a sleeve member receiving at least a portion of the catheter member and having a greater flexibility than the catheter member. The assembly also includes a stylet having a proximal end movably positioned within the catheter member, with a distal portion of the stylet being positioned outside of the catheter member. The assembly is movable between a compact configuration and an extended configuration. In the compact configuration, the distal portion of the stylet is positioned outside of the catheter member and at least partially within the sleeve member. In the extended configuration, a larger distal portion of the stylet is positioned outside of the catheter member than in the compact configuration. The assembly may be in the extended configuration for introduction into a urethra or may be advanced through a urethra prior to being moved to the extended configuration.

The catheter grip includes a body portion adapted to extend circumferentially around a catheter shaft of the catheter assembly to facilitate gripping of the catheter shaft by a user. The catheter grip also includes a head portion through which the catheter shaft can be fed and a biasing mechanism. The biasing mechanism biases the body portion and the head portion away from one another.
