Abstract: An apparatus for injectate delivery includes a cartridge, a linear actuator, a rotary motor mechanically coupled the actuator, and a controller coupled to the motor. The controller controls a linear motion of the actuator by controlling an electrical input supplied to the motor in a first interval during which the motor is stationary with the linear actuator engaged with the cartridge to displace an injectate in the cartridge, a second interval following the first interval during which the controller accelerates the motor from stationary to a first speed selected to create a jet of the injectate from the cartridge with a velocity sufficient to pierce human tissue to a subcutaneous depth, a third interval during which the controller maintains the motor at or above the first speed, and a fourth interval during which the controller decelerates the motor to a second speed to deliver the injectate at the subcutaneous depth.

Abstract: An injection device, method, and system for drug delivery includes a primary container for storing a drug, the container having a stopper movably disposed in the container for expelling the drug, an injection drive mechanism comprising a plunger for acting on the stopper and an energy source for exerting a force on the plunger to cause the plunger to act on the stopper to expel the drug, the force causing the plunger to accelerate to a velocity prior to acting on the stopper, and a damping mechanism for reducing the velocity of the plunger prior to acting on the stopper. The damping mechanism can include a dashpot or an energy absorbing material associated with the plunger. Alternatively or additionally, the damping mechanisms can include absorbing material disposed between support members of an outer casing of the injection device and the primary container.

Abstract: A device for administering a fluid product includes a first housing part with a receiver for the product, a second housing part detachably connectable to the first housing part, a piston rod held such that it can be displaced for the exertion of an emptying movement, an actuatable or releasable drive element for the piston rod, a coupling element including a coupling input element that couples the drive element to the piston rod in a coupling engagement, transmits a driving force of the drive element to the piston rod, and triggers the emptying movement, and a decoupling element displaceably connected to the second housing part and coupled to the first housing part such that it is displaced, by a movement of the housing parts in relation to each other when the housing parts are separated into a decoupling position wherein the piston rod is decoupled from the coupling input element.

Abstract: Disclosed is an auto-injector for administering a medicament, comprising: a housing; a cartridge receiver configured to receive a cartridge comprising a first stopper; a drive module coupled to move a plunger rod configured to move the first stopper; a resistance sensor configured to provide a resistance signal indicative of resistance against movement of the plunger rod; and a processing unit coupled to the drive module and to the resistance sensor. The processing unit being configured to: control the drive module to move the plunger rod towards the extended plunger rod position; determine present plunger rod position; receive the resistance signal; determine a cartridge parameter based on the resistance signal and the present plunger rod position; and control the drive module to adjust the movement of the plunger rod based on the cartridge parameter.
