Abstract: A swizzle stick or drink stirring device includes an elongated member having a first end and a second end and at least one pair of opposed mixing blade segments extending outward from the elongated member and adjacent the second end. Plural opposed pairs of mixing blade segments may be spaced from one another near the lower end of the elongated member. Each opposed pair of mixing blade segments has a common axis that is generally perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the elongated member. The mixing blade segments have a distal end that terminates in a generally loop-like or paddle-shaped end.

Abstract: A first head of a beauty device includes a stirring mechanism stirring bubbles, and a head case provided with an opening for allowing the bubbles stirred by the stirring mechanism to pass through. When the first head is used while being mounted to the body of the beauty device, bubbles are supplied to the stirring mechanism from the body of the beauty device. In a state where bubbles supplied to the stirring mechanism are present between the stirring mechanism and the skin, the bubbles are stirred and moved between the stirring mechanism and the skin by the stirring mechanism, and thus impurities of the skin are removed by the bubbles.

Abstract: Syringe for dispensing foam having a syringe barrel, a nozzle and a bore to receive a syringe plunger having a front end and a back end. The syringe plunger includes at the front end thereof a waste container defined by a cylindrical side wall, a front end wall and a rear end wall, the walls being arranged such that an external cylindrical surface of the walls forms a seal with an internal surface of the syringe barrel. The waste container has an inlet aperture in the front end wall which is in communication with the syringe nozzle when the plunger is fully depressed into the syringe barrel. The waste container further has a hydrophobic vent in the rear end wall thereof which allows air to escape from the waste container while substantially preventing foam from escaping the waste container when the syringe is in use.

Abstract: Methods of concentrating beads in a droplet and/or loading beads on a fluidic device are provided, including among other things, a method of concentrating beads in a droplet, the method comprising: (a) providing a droplet actuator comprising: (i) an interior droplet operations volume; and (ii) a reservoir exterior to the interior volume; (iii) a droplet established in a liquid path extending from the reservoir into the interior volume; (b) providing magnetically responsive beads in the portion of the droplet which is in the reservoir; (c) magnetically attracting the magnetically responsive beads through the liquid path into the portion of the droplet which is in the interior volume; and (d) forming a droplet comprising one or more of the magnetically responsive beads in the interior volume.
