A method for coating glass, and specifically for manufacturing perfluoroalkoxy copolymer coated glass and tetrafluoroethylene perfluoromethyl vinyl ether copolymer coated glass. The method includes placing a glass substrate on an electrically grounded support and cleaning it with a solvent to remove impurities and prepare the surface of the substrate to be coated. The method also includes coating the surface with a primer and uniformly applying an electro-conductive enhance to the primer so that the surface of the glass substrate is wet, but not uneven. The method includes powder spraying periluoroalkoxy copolymer or tetrafluoroethylene perfluoromethyl vinyl ether copolymer on the electro-conductive enhancer while the enhancer is still wet. The method also includes securing the perfluoromethyl vinyl ether copolymer to the glass substrate by evaporating the electro-conductive enhance.

The present invention provides a process for improving the corrosion resistance of a non-stick coating on a substrate by applying a base coat to the substrate. The base coat comprises a liquid composition of heat resistant non-fluoropolymer binder and inorganic filler particles wherein the inorganic particles have an average particle size of no greater than about 2 micrometers. The liquid composition is applied to a substrate with a dry film thickness of at least about 10 micrometers, preferably about 10 to about 35 micrometers, and dried to obtain the base coat. A non-stick coating is applied over the base coat. The heat resistant non-fluoropolymer binder is preferably selected from the group consisting of polyimide (PI), polyamideimide (PAI), polyether sulfone (PES), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and a mixture thereof. More preferably the non-fluoropolymer binder comprises a polyamideimide having a number average molecular weight of at least about 15,000.

An apparatus and method for coating glass, and specifically to perfluoroalkoxy copolymer coated glass, tetrafluoroethylene perfluoromethyl vinyl ether copolymer coated glass and a method for manufacturing same. A coating film-forming method that includes a first step that involves coating a cationic electrodeposition coating composition (A) containing an electrically conducting agent, followed by washing with water and heat curing and drying to form a cured cationic electrodeposition coating film. A second step that involves coating such an anionic electrodeposition coating composition (B). The coating film formed therefrom has a chromatic color or a white color as an achromatic color onto the cured cationic electrodeposition coating film. This is followed by washing with water, and removing water by preheating or air blowing to form a non-cured anionic electrodeposition coating film.
