    摘要: A chuck has a chuck body rotatable about a chuck axis and subdivided along a plane perpendicular to this chuck axis into a front chuck part and a rear chuck part integrally connected together. The rear chuck part is formed with a plurality of angularly spaced and radially extending rear T-section guide grooves opening axially forwardly at the plane and each having a pair of radially extending sides each in turn formed with a step extending parallel to and backwardly offset from the plane. The front chuck part is formed in axial alignment with the rear guide grooves with respectively angularly spaced and radially extending guide grooves opening axially forwardly. The front chuck has a backwardly facing planar face lying on the plane and forwardly closing the rear guide groove. Respective webs form the bases of the backwardly closed front guide grooves, and are formed with radially throughgoing apertures substantially smaller than the respective front guide grooves. Respective rear jaw parts are radially displaceable in the rear guide grooves and each have a pair of oppositely projecting ridges each in turn having a rear face riding on the respective step and a front face riding on the rear face of the front chuck part.

    摘要: In a lathe chuck, the jaws consist of two jaw segments, couplable with each other in different relative positions by means of a coupling member operatively linked to an actuating member by way of a positioning assembly. A latching assembly is provided for fixing in place the forward jaw part while the rearward jaw part is being moved. The latching assembly, the actuating member, and the positioning assembly are all adjustable in a linked relation to one another, so that the chuck span of the chuck jaws is automatically adjustable by the actuating member.

    摘要: A quick changing jaw carrier assembly for mounting a top jaw. The jaw carrier assembly includes a main jaw carrier slidably confined for radial movement within a slot of a rotatable housing. An auxiliary jaw carrier or locking wedge is radially slidably mounted on the main jaw carrier. The auxiliary and main jaw carriers define radially opposed wedges for defining a dovetail structure which lockingly engages a similar such structure on the top jaw. The auxiliary jaw carrier is spring urged outwardly into a jaw-engaging position, and can be manually moved inwardly from this position when release of the jaw is desired. A manually-controlled locking cam is rotatably supported on the main jaw carrier and can be rotatably displaced into a locking position wherein the locking cam projects radially beneath a shoulder formed on the auxiliary jaw carrier when the latter is in its jaw-engaging position.

    摘要: A jaw carrier arrangement is provided with a main jaw carrier which removably mounts a top jaw. The jaw carrier has a bore opening outwardly through a front face for receiving a rear support post provided on the top jaw. A clamping structure is provided on the jaw carrier to securely and rigidly hold the top jaw in snug engagement with the front face. The clamping arrangement includes radially inner and outer clamping members having opposed riblike wedges which project inwardly toward the post for engagement within wedgelike grooves which are formed on diametrically opposite sides of the post and extend perpendicularly thereacross. The inner and outer clamping members are controlled by rotation of a threaded spindle which causes simultaneous movement of the clamping members in opposite directions, whereby the clamping members move inwardly so that the ribs engage the grooves on opposite sides of the post to securely clamp the post therebetween, and at the same time effect a snug drawing in of the post and of the top jaw against the front face of the chuck.

    摘要: A lathe chuck has a chuck body rotatable about an axis and formed with a plurality of angularly spaced and radially extending inner guides and with a plurality of angularly spaced and radially extending outer guides. Each of the inner guides in turn has an axially forwardly directed and radially extending blocking surface and an axially forwardly opening recess at the respective blocking surface. Inner jaws parts are radially displaceable in the chuck body in the inner guides and outer jaw parts projecting axially from the chuck body are radially displaceable therein in the outer guides. An operating element engages the inner jaw parts and jointly radially displaces them between radially inner and radially outer positions. Each inner jaw part has a coupling member axially displaceable between a forward coupling position engaging the respective outer jaw part and locking same radially to the inner jaw part and an axially offset decoupling position allowing relative displacement of the respective inner and outer jaw parts. Each blocking surface prevents displacement of the respective coupling member into the decoupling position except when it is aligned with the respective recess which only occurs in the radial outer position of the pair so that the inner and outer jaw parts can only be decoupled when they are in the radial outer position.

    摘要: A chuck comprises radially slidable work-gripping jaws with racks, radially movable sliders with racks engageable with the racks of the jaws, and an axially movable slider-actuating means for radially moving the sliders in unison. Spring means are provided which urge the racks of both the sliders and jaws out of engagement, and a locking or restraining device is provided to force the racks of the sliders and jaws into engagement against the force of the spring means to make the connection between the sliders and jaws. When the locking or restraining device is unlocked, the connection is broken to allow the jaws to be radially moved independently of the sliders for radial adjustment.

    摘要: The invention relates to a chuck for flexible manufacturing, said chuck comprising a chuck body, a central draw head guided axially in a central hole of the chuck body and connected to inner jaws radially guided in the chuck body through a straight-wedge mechanism, and outer jaws also radially guided in the chuck body and adapted to be equipped with chuck jaws for chucking a work-piece and to be engaged with coupling heads through rack teeth. The coupling heads are built in the inner jaws and guided axially therein, wherein said coupling heads comprise a double locking coupling device. The first locking stage of said coupling device includes wedge-shaped control members fixed to a control ring, whereas the second locking stage includes an additional locking member directly connected to the control ring. The chuck body is in the form of a one-piece unit, wherein the control ring is encased by the chuck body and the rear centering disc so that the control ring can be rotated there-between. and the locking member of the second locking stage is in the form of a cylindrical stud-shaped lock guided in an axial hole of the control ring, said lock being connected, in its locked state, through its front surface, to an axially guided push-rod, wherein said push-rod is arranged in an entirely closed hole of the chuck body.
