Abstract: A shearing apparatus for shearing metal plates or the like includes a support frame on which a stationary blade is mounted to engage a plate to be sheared on one side. The other side of the plate is engaged during the shearing operation by clamping means mounted on the support frame for rocking movement about a first axis between an inactive and a clamping position, and movable blade means are mounted on the clamping means for rocking movement about a second axis transversely spaced from the first axis and moved by appropriate means connected thereto between an inactive and a shearing position to move thereby also the clamping means to the clamping position.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a shearing machine which is provided with two pairs of upper and lower blades in a manner such that the upper and lower blades of one pair are connected to the upper and lower blades, respectively, of the other pair at right angles to shear right-angled blanks out of sheet-like workpieces. The two upper blades are connected with each other at a right angle on a ram member in a manner such that their shearing edges are originally inclined downward from their intersecting point to their respective free ends. The ram member carrying the upper blades is connected to the machine frame by means of a pivot means which is horizontally disposed higher than the top level of the lower blades. Abstract: A machine for cutting a block of stone so as to form a precision straight edge about its perimeter. The machine comprises a stationary base which supports a back-up member which serves as an anvil. Reciprocally mounted on the base is an inside upright assembly which may be raised or lowered by a suitable drive mechanism. Pivotally secured to the inside upright assembly above the anvil is a head member supporting an elongated blade assembly, the blade assembly adapted to be actuated by one or more hydraulic rams disposed in the head assembly and at generally opposite ends of the blade assembly. A block of stone to be cut is positioned on the anvil. The tiltable head assembly is then rotated about its pivot line to direct the action of the upper blade. The blade assembly is lowered so as to be positioned slightly above the upper surface of the stone. By selectively activating one or the other of the power rams, the blade is made to pass through the block of stone in a scissors-like action.

Abstract: The invention relates to a scrap shearer comprising a displaceable frame (1) and a pair of blade units (2, 3) shearing in a scissor-like manner, whereby the blade units are fastened on the frame (1) so that at least one of the blade units (2, 3) is pivotable.
