Abstract: Topside modules are fabricated at a production site using as a foundation for installation a gravity-based structure (GBS), which can stay afloat during water transportation. Modules fabrication includes: Stage I, fabrication of components; Stage II, fabrication of nodes from the components; Stage III, fabrication of sub-assemblies from the nodes; Stage IV, shotblasting and painting of assemblies; and Stage V, assembling modules from the assemblies. Then modules transportation, movement to their seats on the GBS and their integration include: Stage VI, moving the modules to an area near the dock using self-propelled vehicles. Stage VII, moving each module onto guides of a lifting system installed in a dry dock. Stage VIII, lifting each module until lifting system guides are connected with GBS top slab guides. Stage IX, moving each module to its seat on the GBS, installed on the GBS and integrated with other modules and the GBS.

Abstract: Various systems and methods for optimizing operation at a manufacturing assembly line are disclosed. A method for optimizing operation at a manufacturing assembly line having a track on which a plurality of shuttles travel, the track including one or more stations at which a production task occurs and one or more track areas defined relative to the one or more stations, includes monitoring shuttle operation data associated with the plurality of shuttles on the track, and track sensor data associated with an operation state of the track; detecting an operation variation at the manufacturing assembly line based on the shuttle operation data; in response to detecting the operation variation, analyzing the shuttle operation data and the track sensor data to determine one or more degradation causes resulting in the operation variation; and generating an operation recommendation for resolving at least one degradation cause of the one or more degradation causes.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for assembling an airframe of an aircraft, including receiving a half barrel section of fuselage, advancing the half barrel section in a process direction across multiple stations to separately and simultaneously perform work on the half barrel sections, and subsequently joining the half barrel segments to form a section of the airframe. Each pair of half barrel sections, such as upper and lower half barrels, are progressed through assembly line processes to be delivered to a joining station for joining the half barrels together to form a circumferential section of the fuselage. Multiple joined circumferential sections are joined together to form an elongated extent of the fuselage. Indexing features are provided in the assembly process to monitor and control the progression of the half barrel sections in the work stations of the assembly line process.

Abstract: A method and system for an automated modular construction factory is presented. A plurality of pre-cast construction panels, a quality control zone, a transportation system, a general stockyard, a sequencing system, an assembly zone, an assembly system, a transit system, a finishing zone, and a plurality of finishing stations are provided. The pre-cast construction panels undergo quality control under the quality control zone and are transported and ordered to the general stockyard through the transportation and sequencing systems. The panels are then assembled into a constructed room in the assembly zone through the assembly system. The constructed room is transported by the transit system to the finishing zone where the constructed room is furnished and completed by the plurality of finishing stations.

Abstract: A dispensing head is disclosed including a control system located in the dispensing head, an encoder read head located in the dispensing head, and a light-capture sensor located in the dispensing head configured to detect a light flash of a stationary camera when the light flash illuminates a component on the dispensing head or an element of the dispensing head. Abstract: A production facility is provided with: an AGV for transporting a plurality of fuselage panels of multiple types having different shapes in a mixed state on a previously determined transport path; a plurality of A/Rs for riveting the fuselage panels; work areas set so as to correspond to the respective A/Rs in which the A/Rs move to rivet the fuselage panels; and a buffer area, set beforehand in the transport path adjacent to the work area, to which the A/R corresponding to the adjacent work area moves so as to rivet the fuselage panel. When there is no fuselage panel to be riveted in the work area adjacent to the buffer area and the fuselage panel to be riveted is present in the buffer area, a control device moves the A/R corresponding to the work area adjacent to the buffer area to the buffer area to rivet the fuselage panel.

Abstract: An assembly machine includes a plurality of track modules, each track module including a section of track, the plurality of track modules connectable to form a continuous circuitous track, the continuous circuitous track configured to receive a dispensing head, the dispensing head configured to rotate about the continuous circuitous track and at least partially assemble an unfinished product. The machine includes a first feeder module attached to a first length of the continuous circuitous track configured to feed a component to the dispensing head, and a first placement module attached to a second length of the continuous circuitous track configured to receive the unfinished product. The dispensing head is configured to place the component on the unfinished product. The assembly machine is reconfigurable by attaching or removing one or more of the plurality of track modules, the first feeder module and the first placement module.
