The injection unit comprises an extruder that is structured to continuously melt, in use, a molding material; a nozzle that is connectable, in use, to a mold; a melt accumulator that is structured to selectively buffer and transfer, in use, the molding material towards the nozzle, the melt accumulator including a first melt accumulator and a second melt accumulator selectively connectable to the extruder via a distribution assembly, and wherein each of the first melt accumulator and the second melt accumulator defines a respective melt accumulation volume; the melt accumulation volume being configured to accumulate and hold, for a first time after being molten by the extruder a volume of molding material sufficient to transfer for downstream processing; a melt filter placed before the melt accumulation volume, such that the molding material if subjected to filtering prior to entering the melt accumulation volume, the melt filter being configured to remove contaminants from the molding material.

The plasticization-inducing effect is configured to platicize solidified-resin particle into flowable melt and injected into a mold assembly (850).

    摘要: The present invention is directed to an in-line compounding and molding process for making fiber reinforced polypropylene composite parts and articles that exhibit beneficial mechanical and aesthetic properties imparted by such process and compositions. The in-line compounding and molding process includes the steps of providing an in-line compounding and molding machine comprising a twin screw extruder fluidly coupled to an injection molder; extrusion compounding in the twin screw extruder a composition comprising at least 30 wt % polypropylene, from 10 to 60 wt % organic fiber, from 0 to 40 wt % inorganic filler, and from 0 to 0.1 wt % lubricant to form a melt extrudate; conveying the melt extrudate to the injection molder; and molding the melt extrudate in the injection molder to form a part or article. Fiber reinforced polypropylene articles formed from the in-line compounding and molding process have flexural modulus of at least 300,000 psi and exhibit ductility during instrumented impact testing. Fiber reinforced polypropylene articles formed from the process of the present invention are particularly suitable for making household appliances, automotive parts, and boat hulls.

    摘要: An injection molding machine includes a plasticating unit for plasticating a thermoplastic resin, and an injecting unit connected to the plasticating unit through a connecting passage to inject the plasticated resin into a mold. In the connecting passage, provided is a buffering unit for reserving the resin in an amount at least equal to the quantity of the resin injected per one shot. The plasticated resin is temporarily reserved in the buffering unit, and then, the reserved resin is fed to the injecting unit when the measuring is carried out, whereby the plasticating unit can be driven continuously simultaneously with the operation of the injecting unit and the mold. The molding cycle can shortened with the plastication efficiency being enhanced.
