The method includes forming a gear blank having a plurality of individual lugs formed about an outer circumferential edge of said blank to facilitate a uniform flow of a material around said plurality of individual lugs. The method also includes molding said material around said plurality of individual lugs to form a ring.

A drive shaft has a tubular member extending between axial ends and being hollow. The tubular member is formed of a thermoplastic matrix with embedded fibers. At least one ring member is positioned radially of the tubular member. A method is also disclosed.

A non-metallic flange isolation gasket kit sealing flanged pipeline connections and flanged vessel connections while providing electrical isolation protection between flanges suited for high-pressure and high-temperature cathodic protection applications is presented. The invention protects flange faces from media induced corrosion and mitigates flange rotation induced fatigue and failures. The invention comprises of a retainer, a seal, and a seal pre-load structural ring. The seal pre-load structural ring is inserted into the seal, and seal outer diameter surface is joined to the retainer inner diameter surface. A second embodiment comprises of a composite gasket blank, comprising of a retainer and a seal, and a seal pre-load structural ring. The seal outer diameter surface and the retainer inner diameter surface are joined by thermal fusion bonding. The invention may further comprise one or more gasket seating stress stabilizers and/or a centering ring. Tapered retainer upper and lower surfaces decrease flange rotation.

A handle grip and process for making such handle grip. The handle grip comprises a cording arranged in a spaced knotted configuration around and along a handle. The spaced knotted cording is first entirely covered with a permeable woven layer. The permeable woven layer is covered with a hardener that permeates the woven layer and secures the woven layer and cording to the handle in water-tight fashion.

Abstract:
A fastening mechanism that is integrated with the material of an article of clothing is described. The article of clothing, preferably a sock or glove, is treated with a chemical agent and a press to form a fastening mechanism for holding or coupling of multiple articles of clothing or manufacture. The fastening mechanism of one article of clothing can then be matched to an interlocking fastening mechanism of another article of clothing thereby joining the two articles of clothing together. The chemical agent and subsequent fastening mechanism is generally desired to be non-reactive and is preferably resistant to water and heat. This allows the article of clothing to be worn and washed as normal without a loss of functionality.

The invention relates to a mould for injecting a layer of abradable material, such as silicone, inside an inner shroud of an axial-flow turbomachine. The mould comprises a circular wall or tubular wall extending axially and two annular walls extending radially outwardly from the axial ends of the axial wall. Each radial wall of the mould comprises an annular hook in contact with the outer surface of the shroud so as to hold the mould against the shroud. The injection pressure presses the hooks against the shroud, providing a seal. The walls form an annular moulding cavity inside the inner shroud in combination with the inner shroud. The invention also relates to a method for moulding an abradable layer inside the shroud with the aid of the mould. The latter is deformed by spreading apart the hooks so as to fit over the shroud.
