Abstract:
A runflat device can include a double sided beadlock. The runflat device can be fitted to any size and type of wheel, regardless of a shape and depth of a wheel well. The runflat device can be fitted using standard tools, and may be tightened by manipulation of a valve assembly.
Abstract:
The present embodiments provide a wheel assembly having a dynamic structure to influence an unloaded profile of a tire. In one embodiment the unloaded profile is also influenced by a centrifugal force on the wheel assembly and an inflation pressure of the tire. In one embodiment, a loaded profile of the tire is influenced by a weight of the wheel assembly, the inflation pressure of the tire, and the centrifugal force on the wheel assembly.
Abstract:
The present technology provides a pneumatic tire having a mechanical fastener member for attaching an object with specific functionality to an inner surface of the pneumatic tire, particularly, a pneumatic tire such that, as the pneumatic tire rolls, the object with the specific function attached by the mechanical fastener member can be effectively prevented from executing rotating motion about the mechanical fastener member as a rotation central axis. The pneumatic tire of the present technology has a first member of a mechanical fastener separable into two members, disposed on the tire inner surface. On the tire inner surface around the mechanical fastener member, a recessed flat surface region is formed as a recessed portion having a step from peripheral portions of the recessed portion.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire comprises a carcass with a reinforcing ply structure extending between a pair of bead portions and a pair of sidewalls, a tread, a belt reinforcing structure located radially outward of the carcass and radially inward of the tread, and two inserts. Each insert is located in each sidewall. Each sidewall is located radially outward of one of the pair of bead portions. Each insert has a first material and a second material. The first material has a different coefficient of thermal expansion than the second material.
Abstract:
Provided is a core (10A), in which split pieces (10P) adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction are coupled by a coupling pin (11), an axial direction of which is disposed in a width direction of the split pieces (10P), at a radial inner circumferential side thereof, and split surfaces (10a, 10b) formed by both of the split pieces (10P, 10P) include a first load receiving surface (10c) and a second load receiving surface (10d) having a predetermined angle with respect to a radial direction at a radial outer circumferential side from the coupling pin (11).
Abstract:
A run-flat support system and method for installing the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the run-flat support system includes a torque assembly removably coupled to a split wheel rim of a pneumatic tired wheel. A plurality of support segments are adapted for attachment to the torque assembly in order to support the pneumatic tired wheel in a flat condition such as an under-inflated condition or deflated condition.
Abstract:
Interface disc for a vehicle wheel, comprising: at least one substantially central attachment element designed to allow the said disc to be attached to a wheel; a plurality of substantially radial arms connected to the attachment elements and extending radially outwards from a substantially central portion of the said disc as far as a substantially peripheral portion of the said disc; an energy absorption surface collaborating with the said arms and configured to form a wall between the said substantially central portion of the disc and its substantially peripheral portion; at least one circumferential reinforcing element collaborating with the said arms and the modulus of which is substantially higher than that of the energy absorption element.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a flat-running device designed to be fitted to a tubeless mounted assembly for a motor vehicle and such a mounted assembly incorporating this device. A flat-running device according to the invention, for a wheel rim (in several parts includes an annular supporting structure of the casing which is designed to be mounted around the rim and which is divided into sectors in an arc of a circle that are articulated together by connection means, and means for locking the beads against these edges which are designed to connect said annular supporting structure to these beads. The connection means including two spindles extending in the axial direction which are respectively attached in two adjacent sectors and which are connected together by an articulation extending in the circumferential direction of the device, said articulation consisting of at least one rigid lug with two through-holes or else of at least one flexible link with two loops, said at least one lug or said at least one link being articulated on these spindles by these two holes or loops, respectively.
Abstract:
A run-flat support assembly for a wheel rim of a pneumatic tired wheel and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, a tubular support structure is positioned in a tire cavity of the pneumatic tired wheel and coupled to the wheel rim to turn concurrently with an axis of rotation of the wheel rim. A skeletal structure is disposed within the tubular support structure. Circumferentially spaced linkages are displaceably secured to respective mounting races of a body of the skeletal structure. Each of the circumferentially spaced linkages is adapted to plastically fail at a pre-determined moment load in a run-flat condition, thereby pivoting relative to the respective mounting race.
Abstract:
Provided are a method and a device for fixing a run-flat support body to a pneumatic tire. The method and the device can achieve the prevention of unevenness in the distribution of the lubricant applied to the inner surface of the tire in which the run-flat support body is used, and thus of deterioration in the weight balance of the wheel. In the fixing method, the run-flat support body configured of a pair of elastic rings to be arranged around a rim and an annular shell installed across these elastic rings is fixed to the pneumatic tire which is to be fitted to the rim with the run-flat support body inserted into a hollow part of the tire. The fixing device, for restricting the radial movements of the run-flat support body inserted into the hollow part, is fitted to at least one of bead parts of the pneumatic tire before the pneumatic tire is fitted to the rim so as to coaxially hold the pneumatic tire and the run-flat support body.
