摘要: The present invention relates generally to an external condenser and light assembly and, more particularly, to an improved external air conditioning condenser and housing that is designed to additionally serve as a light assembly for an emergency vehicle. The condenser housing is mounted to the exterior of the emergency vehicle, which improves the performance of the emergency vehicle's air-conditioning system. The design of the condenser housing also allows it to serve as a light assembly on which emergency vehicle lights are mounted. The condenser housing and light assembly structure thereby provides for proper air conditioning functionality without occupying space on the exterior of the vehicle that would more preferably be occupied by emergency lighting.

摘要: The invention relates to a vehicle used in transporting or treating large numbers of victims or patients from a mass-casualty incident to or from a hospital in an evacuation situation. The typical vehicle contains a stacked stretcher system, a loading ramp system, and an oxygen system. This vehicle must have an independent energy source or must be capable of being powered by an outside energy source. The vehicle can be flexible enough to provide facilities for treatment of victims either at the site of a disaster, in route from the disaster, at any remote site, or near a healthcare facility. A variation of the vehicle contains refrigeration or freezer units and is capable of transporting or maintaining casualties until mortuary services can be obtained. Variations of the equipment include trays made of stainless steel, stretchers that can be easily cleaned and that allow for easy drainage of liquids.

摘要: A cooling system for a vehicle comprises a compressor for compressing refrigerant, the compressor being adapted to be driven by a power source installed in the vehicle, a condenser for receiving compressed refrigerant from the compressor, an expansion device for expanding refrigerant from the condenser, and a liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger for receiving refrigerant from the expansion device and exchanging heat between the refrigerant and a liquid. The liquid may comprise a coolant, and a pump may be provided for pumping the coolant through the heat exchanger to a point of use such as a cooling garment to cool personnel on board the vehicle. Alternatively, the liquid may be a drinkable liquid which is pumped through the heat exchanger to a suitable dispensing system to provide an on-board supply of cool drinking liquid.

摘要: System and method to partition the interior of a vehicle's main crew compartment with retractable or removable walls to form a containment or isolation area at a door or hatch and to form a cab toxic free area elsewhere inside the vehicle's main crew compartment. The containment area is physically cordoned and substantially sealed off from the rest of the vehicle's main crew compartment. Independent HVAC systems controlling the pressure environment of the main crew compartment and the containment area assures that the main crew compartment is maintained at a pressure greater than the containment area as well as the outside environment, thereby isolating the main crew compartment from possible contaminated environments. The containment area's independent HVAC system is equipped with a decontamination/sterilization/filtration system to allow the purification of the air prior to removal or retraction of the removable or retractable partition.

摘要: An air conditioning arrangement for an emergency vehicle or the like including an evaporator unit comprising closely spaced first and second tubing arrays, with each array being operably associated with a respective refrigerant compressor. The tubing of each array is formed into coils involving a number of essentially parallel tubing runs connected by curved end members, with substantial portions of the tubing being provided with fins. A low voltage blower is positioned to cause air to be pulled across the tubing of the first and second tubing arrays and between the fin members.

摘要: A composite gas filtration system for removal of toxic or harmful agents from a breathable gas supply, wherein a compressor fed pressure swing adsorption unit is placed upstream of an adsorbent carbon filter unit in a gas supply line, characterized in that a plenum chamber is positioned in the gas supply line with one or more inlet orifices supplied by gas treated by the pressure swing adsorption unit, one or more exit orifices leading to the carbon filter unit, and one or more further inlet orifices supplied by gas from upstream of the pressure swing adsorption unit, wherein a device for drawing or propelling breathable gas through the plenum chamber and carbon filter from the further inlet orifices in the event of shut down of the pressure swing adsorption unit and/or compressor is provided. By use of the preferred system of the present invention it is thus possible to operate a high pressure swing adsorption unit in conjunction with an adsorbent carbon filter unit, that not being high pressure type, whereby in event of the high pressure units failing the system automatically switches to a back-up mode not requiring redundant units that would be required in prior art systems.
