摘要： A vehicle seat that can suitably protect a seated occupant against an impact from a seat width direction is described, while enlargement of the seat in the seat width direction is restrained. A support member provided to the vehicle seat supports the seated occupant from a side of the seated occupant, and includes an inner plate attached to a seat width direction inner side of a side frame, an outer plate attached to a seat width direction outer side of the side frame, and a connection plate for connecting the inner plate and the outer plate on a seat front side. The outer plate is attached to the seat width direction outer side of the side frame at a position that does not overlap in the seat width direction with attachment positions of the inner plate and the side frame.

摘要： A frame serving as a seatback frame for a vehicle seat and simply configured to reduce a load applied to a seated occupant at the time of a vehicle collision is provided. A seatback frame includes a connecting wire which connects side frames. The center of the connecting wire is bent to extend toward a front side of a vehicle seat. When the seated occupant is moved toward a rear side of the vehicle seat at the time of a vehicle rear-end collision, the forward extending portion restrains a portion of the back of the seated occupant in which a thoracic vertebra is located and reduces an amount of a rearward movement of the portion.

The shoulder receiving portion is therefore arranged in an upper region of each of the two lateral frame members so as to project forwardly from a plane where the two lateral frame members lie, and the upper frame member is formed in substantially “inverted-U” shape and inclined backwardly distant from the two lateral frame members, This arrangement avoids unpleasant pressed touch to be given to the seat occupant's back portion in the case of rear-end collision and may prevent a great impact from being imparted to vertebrae of the seat occupant.

The seat assembly generally includes a bottom portion to support the lower torso of the driver, a back portion to support the spinal column of the driver, a left portion to support the left paraspinal area of the driver, and a right portion to support the right paraspinal area of the driver. The bottom portion has a hingedly connectable upper edge. The back portion has a lower edge hingedly and detachably connected to the upper edge of the bottom portion. The back portion further has hingedly connectable left and right edges.

摘要： A vehicle seat liner is used to allow manual extrication of an injured driver from the vehicle seat. The liner is formed of two rigid board elements disposed against those portions of said vehicle seat normally contacted by the back and buttocks of the operator when seated. The board elements are pivotally joined to each other adjacent the juncture of the aforesaid portions of the vehicle seat. This permits the driver to sit on the liner when in the seated position in the vehicle seat and to lie upon the liner when the board elements are pivoted relative to each other to form a substantially planar configuration. The liner also has handles, hand grips, straps, or the like, that can be grasped by rescue personnel reaching into the interior of the vehicle to extricate the driver. This permits rescuers to lift the liner and the driver from the vehicle seat and out of the vehicle while stabilizing of the head and spinal cord of the driver.
