Abstract: A one-side brake control system and method perform distribution of torques between front and rear wheels. The one-side brake control system includes a target steering angle input unit to which a target steering angle of a driver or a controller of an autonomous vehicle is input when a steering system fails, an integrated Electronic Control Unit (ECU) configured to calculate a target moment of the vehicle according to the target steering angle input through the target steering angle input unit and calculate brake torques of a one-side front wheel and a one-side rear wheel of the vehicle based on the target moment, and a braking ECU configured to control one or more braking actuators of the one-side front wheel and the one-side rear wheel of the vehicle according to the brake torque of the front wheel and the rear wheel transmitted from the integrated ECU to perform one-side brake.

Abstract: A brake system control module for use in a brake system is provided. The brake system control module includes a reservoir tank having a brake fluid level sensor. The brake system control module automatically determines if the brake fluid level sensor detects a low fluid level in the reservoir tank and monitors a value of sensors to determine if the value of the sensors is less than or greater than evac and fill start and stop thresholds. The brake system control module further manages an evacuation and a filling of the brake system based on the value of the sensors.

Abstract: A brake system may include an actuation device, in particular a brake pedal, a first piston-cylinder unit with two pistons, in particular an auxiliary piston and a second piston, in order to supply a pressure medium to brake circuits via a valve device. One of the pistons, in particular the auxiliary piston, can be actuated by means of the actuation device. The brake system may further include a second piston-cylinder unit with an electric motor-powered drive, a transmission, and at least one piston to supply a pressure medium to at least one of the brake circuits via a valve device and a motor-pump unit with a valve device to supply a pressure medium to the brake circuits. According to one aspect, a hydraulic travel simulator is connected to a pressure or working chamber of the first piston-cylinder unit.

Abstract: A brake pad state estimation device estimates a brake pad state including at least one of a wear volume and a temperature of a brake pad of a vehicle. The brake pad state estimation device performs: a brake pad state calculation process calculating the brake pad state based on sensor detection information during braking; and an information output process storing the brake pad state information in a storage and/or transmitting the brake pad state information to the outside. The brake pad state estimation device variably sets a processing frequency of at least one of the brake pad state calculation process and the information output process. The processing frequency when a vehicle speed is lower is lower than the processing frequency when the vehicle speed is higher, or the processing frequency when a brake pressure is lower is lower than the processing frequency when the brake pressure is higher.

Abstract: A method for braking a vehicle. The method includes: sensing a braking request signal which represents a target deceleration of the vehicle; generating, using a first pressure generating device, a hydraulic brake pressure in a wheel-brake cylinder based on the sensed braking request signal; detecting a fault state of the first pressure generating device; ascertaining a replacement braking request signal if a fault state of the first pressure generating device is detected, the replacement braking request signal being ascertained based on a target deceleration known at a predetermined time point prior to the detection of the fault state; and generating, using a brake pressure control system, a replacement brake pressure in the wheel-brake cylinder based on the ascertained replacement braking request signal, which brake pressure control system has a second pressure generating device which is hydraulically coupled to the wheel-brake cylinder.

Abstract: A parking brake system is disclosed and includes one or more pressure transducers that monitor the fluid pressure of the parking brake system and a brake selection device configured to indicate the parking brake system is either in an engaged state or a disengaged state. The parking brake system includes one or more processors and a memory coupled to the one or more processors. The memory stores data comprising a database and program code that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the parking brake system to determine the fluid pressure of the parking brake system is less than a threshold pressure. In response to determining the fluid pressure of the parking brake system is less than the threshold pressure, the parking brake system instructs the brake selection device to indicate the parking brake system is in the disengaged state.

Abstract: A vehicle braking device includes a first pressurizing unit including a cylinder, a piston slidable in the cylinder, an electric motor that drives the piston, and an output chamber partitioned by the cylinder and the piston. The first pressurizing unit is configured such that a connection state between the output chamber and a reservoir is switched between communication and cut-off states according to the piston position, and the first pressurizing unit is capable of pressurizing fluid by decreasing a volume of the output chamber by movement of the piston to one axial direction side; a pressure sensor that detects a pressure of the output chamber; and an estimation unit that executes a position estimation process of moving the piston and estimating a switching position of the piston at which the connection state of the output chamber and the reservoir is switched based on a detection value of the pressure sensor.
