    摘要: A steering system and method are described for a vehicle having steerable wheels. A steering device may be coupled to one or more of the wheels. A parked state of the vehicle and a present orientation of the hydraulic steering device may be determined. The present orientation of the steering device may be compared with a neutral orientation of the steering device. Based upon a determined parked state of the vehicle and the comparing of the present and neutral orientations of the steering device, the steering device may be moved from the present orientation toward the neutral orientation.

    摘要: The degrees of freedom in the design of a layout structure of a power steering system for a vehicle are increased so that the auxiliary parts can be arranged around the power assisting actuator without the need for a special increase in the strength and in the stiffness of a body frame for installing the power steering system. The front wheels are steered by a power steering system supported by the body frame wherein the power steering system is provided with an actuator for assisting a steering force. One end of the actuator is installed to a first cross pipe laid over the left and right portions of the body frame. The arrangement is such so that a longitudinal direction of the actuator runs substantially in parallel with a center line of a chassis extending in a back-and-forth direction of the vehicle body.

    摘要: A power steering system employs a valve which directly controls the direction of flow of steering fluid and the degree of pressure of the steering fluid. In another aspect of the present invention, a sensor is used to detect steering wheel induced torque. The sensor supplies a signal to an electrical control unit which, in turn, sends a signal to an electromagnetic device controlling a spool within a valve. In a further aspect of the present invention, a non-rotary valve controls steering fluid pressure and flow through left and right turn assist outlets. In still another aspect of the present invention, a valve employs a pair of bores within which spools are linearly movable by electromagnetic devices. In yet another aspect of the present invention, a valve is provided for controlling the magnitude and direction of steering fluid pressure and flow to a steering cylinder; the valve is not mechanically engaged with a rotating member of the steering system.

    摘要: A hydraulic pressure control valve includes a valve body having a slide bore with a circular cross-section, an inlet port opened in an inner surface of the slide bore, a control pressure port and an outlet port at axially spaced-apart distances in this sequence; a valve spool axially slidably fitted in the valve body; and a first variable orifice and a second variable orifice both formed between the valve body and the valve spool. The first variable orifice controls the degree of communication between the inlet port and the control pressure port, and the second variable orifice controls the degree of communication between the control pressure port and the outlet port. In this hydraulic pressure control valve, the valve spool has smaller diameter portions coaxially formed therein to define annular oil passages between the inner surface of the slide bore and the valve spool and each smaller diameter portion has an outer diameter set uniformly over the axially entire length thereof.

    摘要: A booster steering servomotor having a piston is pressurized and exhausted by a valve having a rotary valve plug within a valve sleeve and coacting flow control grooves wherein means for centering the rotary valve plug and steering mechanism of the vehicle wheels is effected by hydraulic power after a steering operation. Accordingly, little or no resort to axle geometry is required for such purpose thereby saving the energy normally utilized in the steering operation. Such energy expenditure has been necessary to put wheel restoring force in the axle geometry, e.g., due to inclination of king pins. In essence, the components effect rotation of the rotary valve plug during steering return in a direction to pressurize the servomotor pressure chamber which has been previously non-pressurized to bring the steering linkages back to straight ahead steering. The effect is achieved by increasing return bias energy stored in a fluid pressure chamber causing a return of the valve members, when steering force is released, beyond the neutral position for briefly reversely pressurizing the servomotor. The arrangement uses sleeve means having a cam action, which sleeve means are slotted for radial flexibility to take up play in the mechanism assembly.
