Abstract:
An elevator has a safety control unit that distinguishes between a first input signal and a second input signal at an input for selecting an operating mode. The elevator has a main switch device with a switch, the main switch device being accessible from outside a shaft of the elevator. The main switch device and the safety control unit are connected, wherein the switch is switchable from a first state into a second state. The safety control unit operates in a first operating mode when the switch is in the first state, in a second operating mode when the switch is in the second state and the safety control unit detects the first input signal at the input, and in a third operating mode when the switch is switched to the second state and the safety control unit detects the second input signal at the input.
Abstract:
An exemplary method of controlling an elevator system includes determining that a temporary heavy traffic condition exists that includes a plurality of passengers requiring elevator service from an originating floor in the building that is distinct from a lobby floor. At least one elevator car out of a plurality of elevator cars within the building is temporarily dedicated to carry the passengers from the originating floor. A peak travel scheduling strategy is temporarily used for controlling the dedicated elevator car or cars for a selected period of time.
Abstract:
A method for operating an elevator for maintenance is performed on an elevator having a car, an elevator shaft, wherein the car is displaceable along the elevator shaft, a drive displacing the car, a plurality of shaft doors, at least one of the shaft doors being arranged at each of multiple floors including at least a lowermost floor and a uppermost floor, and an elevator control unit. The elevator control unit performs among others the method steps of: checking whether a person is within a predefined danger zone, wherein the predefined danger zone preferably is the elevator shaft; and switching from the maintenance mode back into a normal operation mode when there is no person within the predefined danger zone.
Abstract:
A method for taking an elevator of an elevator group into service mode includes entering in the input device of the elevator group a maintenance signal which comprises an elevator definition part, upon entering of the maintenance signal the elevator identified in the elevator definition part is removed from landing call allocation, the identified elevator is initiated to serve all remaining car calls and then to drive to a maintenance floor and to wait there for maintenance operation.
Abstract:
A safety system for an elevator that includes at least one control unit, which control unit is operable in at least two different operating modes. The safety system has at least one electronic lock connected with the control unit, and is connectable, or connected, with at least one electronic key. The control unit is programmed, or programmable, in such that, in the presence of a connection between the electronic key and the electronic lock, it is only operable in one operating mode of a first subset of the operating modes and, in the absence of a connection between the electronic key and the electronic lock, it is only operable in one operating mode of a second subset of the operating modes. A maintenance mode is only available in the second subset of the operating modes.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for hoist elevator system operation are provided. Hoist elevator operation systems and methods operate using a wireless network that may include a plurality of wireless technologies. Hoist elevator operation systems include a floor call station installed on a level or floor of a construction site, as well as a car controller paired to an operator panel and installed in a hoist elevator car. A remote server and a base station may also be provided.

Abstract:
A process for operating an elevator control device, whereby for local access to the elevator control device via a programming device, the elevator control device automatically sends an identifier to the programming device and the identifier is input to an operator panel associated with the elevator control device. The elevator control device permits the local access when the previously sent identifier has been entered correctly within a predetermined input time.
Abstract:
An elevator monitoring and control method which involves indicating the condition of a plurality of elevators in indicators and controlling the plurality of elevators on the basis of a prescribed input. Since in control setting processing, it is possible to set a plurality of control items as a control pattern, in control execution processing, elevator control by a plurality of control items is made possible simply by executing the control pattern, with the result that it becomes possible to improve operability and to reduce the frequency of wrong operations. Furthermore, control execution processing can be performed after isolating part of the control patterns set in the control setting processing, with the result that it becomes possible to take speedy and flexible steps even in an emergency and to improve operability.
