Abstract:
A lift system configured to lift an article (e.g., a batten). The lift system includes a first cable configured to be coupled to the article, a second cable configured to be coupled to the article, a drive mechanism coupled to the first cable and the second cable and operable to raise and lower the article, a first loft block including a first loft sheave to redirect the first cable from a first substantially horizontal axis to a first substantially vertical axis, and a guide member to direct the second cable along a second substantially horizontal axis. The lift system further includes a second loft block including a second loft sheave to redirect the second cable from the second substantially horizontal axis block to a second substantially vertical axis.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for handling uncured radius fillers are disclosed. The devices, i.e., radius filler transport tools, generally are configured to load a radius filler from above, to index the radius filler to a desired location (e.g., a cavity), and to downwardly unload (e.g., drop) the radius filler at the desired location. Radius filler transport tools comprise at least two trough portions, coupled together to form a trough to carry the radius filler, and a plurality of hanger assemblies configured to transversely span the trough. The radius filler transport tool may have a transport state, where the trough and the hanger assemblies are in closed states, a load state, where the trough is in the closed state and at least one hanger assembly is in an open state, and an unload state, where the trough is in an open state and the hanger assemblies are in closed states.
Abstract:
A removable vehicle top lift system is disclosed herein. Described embodiments of a removable vehicle top lift system include a T-shaped body includes adjustable left, right, and rear arms that may be adjusted to accommodate the size of different removable vehicle tops. The left, right, and rear arms also include hooks for engaging a removable vehicle top. Balancing mechanisms for a removable vehicle top lift system are disclosed. Hooks with mechanisms to hold down a window of a removable vehicle top are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for handling cargo. A cargo handling system may be positioned relative to the cargo. The cargo handling system may comprise a frame structure and an engagement system. The frame structure may be configured to change in a number of dimensions to encompass the cargo. The engagement system may be configured to engage the cargo. The number of dimensions of the frame structure may be adjusted to encompass the cargo. The cargo may be engaged with the engagement system.
Abstract:
Disclosed is multiple-unit indexing, mechanical scissor clamp for handling one or more modular segmental retaining wall units, also called “SRW blocks” having opposite ends each provided with a vertical groove. This clamp allows the user to move SRW blocks from a shipping pallet to a wall. The clamp and blocks are lifted using traditional construction machinery such as a backhoe, crane, bobcat, etc. The significant innovation of this clamp/block system is the ability to lift and place more than one large segmental retaining wall block with each installation cycle, substantially increasing installation efficiency.
Abstract:
A pipe flange lifting device for supporting and leveling two holes of a blind flange during installation onto a pipe end. The device comprises two L-shaped claws connecting to a common pin, forming an overall triangular-shaped device having a crane hoist fitting. The claws are positioned on opposing sides of a pipe flange and rotate freely with respect to the pin prior to installation, whereafter the claws are fitted beneath lifting bolts fitted through a flange for stable support during operation. The lifting bolts comprise a pair of bolts inserted into eyes of the flange prior to the lifting operation. Spacers along the pin allow the claws to be separated by a desired distance and prevent pinch points due to claw inclination. The design of the claws provides stable support for two lift bolts of a pipe flange and assists in the installation process.
Abstract:
A pipe flange lifting device for supporting and leveling a blind flange during installation onto a pipe end. The device comprises a pair of closed fittings having a plurality of apertures through which to place a first and second lifting bolt. The fittings are positioned on opposing sides of a pipe flange and rotate freely with respect to the pin prior to installation, whereafter the lifting bolts fitted through the flange and opposing fittings for stable support during operation. The lifting bolts comprise a pair of bolts inserted into eyes of the flange prior to the lifting operation. Spacers along the pin allow the fittings to be separated by a desired distance and prevent pinch points due to fitting inclination. The pin includes an attached crane hoist fitting for lifting the assembly and a secured flange during flange installation.
Abstract:
A rigging device includes a fixture having opposed first and second ends, opposed upper and lower faces, and a bracket extending away from the upper face of the fixture between the opposed first and second ends of the fixture to engage a hoist line of a crane. A support is mounted to the fixture proximate each of the opposed first and second ends on either side of the bracket extending away from the lower face of the fixture terminating with an engaging element movable between a disengaging position and an engaging position.
Abstract:
An apparatus for attachment to a farm tractor or other vehicle having a three point hitch system. The apparatus provides a grapple on a rotational platform which enables the lifting of material, such as logs, trees or the like. The grapple arms are configured to grapple varying sizes of material. The apparatus uses a connecting member which provides rigid structure to prevent downward rotation of the grapple when in a loading state and flexible structure to allow downward or upward rotation of the grapple said second frame about said first frame when grapple means is in a resting state. Various configuration of the grapple arm enables handling different size materials.
