    摘要: In one aspect, the present invention relates to a mechanical winch. The mechanical winch includes a body and a spool axle. The spool axle is slidably disposed within the body and coupled to the body by at least one spring. A spool is disposed about the spool axle. A non-electrically-conductive tether is coupled to the spool. A brake axle is slidably disposed within the frame and located a fixed distance from the spool axle. Actuation of the spool applies increasing tension to non-electrically-conductive tether and causes compression of the at least one spring.

    摘要: The brake system includes a brake lever independent of, but capable of rotating about the same point as a bell crank. Upon receiving a downward force, a member extending from the lever strikes a portion of the bell crank and generates a force that cause the bell crank to rotate. Rotational action of the bell crank transfers rotational energy to an equalizer bar thorough a linkage system. The equalizer bar's rotation increases or decreases tension on brake bands that slow a tubing drum. A cylinder can activate and cause the equalizer bar to rotate, applying tension to the brake bands and slowing the drum. Rotational energy is transferred back to the bell crank through the linkage. The rotational energy is absorbed by a spring positioned between the bell crank and the brake lever, thereby reducing the amount of sudden force passed through the brake lever to an operator.

    摘要: Traction and traction-loading hoists which are mounted on vehicles for improving their progression capability, for helping other vehicles which are blocked, for dragging loads onto the platforms of vehicles as well as for lifting or lowering loads. The hoist of the present invention comprises the following members mounted on two supports: a winding drum, a winding drum switching mechanism that disconnects the drum for unwinding more rapidly the hoist cable, a reduction gear which is in the shape of one conical and one planetary gears connected by a linking shaft and has a lower reduction ratio than that of the current ones; and a mechanism for stopping the winding drum which is made in the shape of a toothed free-wheel clutch. In order to lower a load which has been previously lifted, the hoist comprises a brake system usually connected to an energy accumulator. In order to increase the braking action, the hoist may also include a braking chamber having its control connected to the clutch control of the vehicle. The potential yield of this hoist is higher than that of similar devices.

    摘要: The invention is concerned with the rapid release of frictional force which is acting to reduce relative movement between contacting surfaces, the normal actuating means being unaffected. One application is in an anti-lock braking system in vehicles, particularly motorcycles. A sensor monitors wheel angular velocity and when this falls below a predetermined value the sensor causes ultrasonic vibrations to be applied to brake pads effectively reducing friction without release of brake operating pressure to enable resumption of normal rotation.The invention can also be applied to friction clutches operating in either rotary or linear senses to cause release when overloading, overspeed, etc. occurs.
