    摘要: Self-curable water-based solid adhesives of this invention include the following components (A), (B), (C), and (D): (A) an anionic-group-containing polymer terminally having an alkoxysilyl group, the polymer being a reaction product of a compound (A1) containing no anionic group and having plural isocyanate-reactive groups, a compound (A2) having an anionic group and plural isocyanate-reactive groups, a polyisocyanate compound (A3), and an alkoxysilane compound (A4) containing an isocyanate-reactive group; (B) a basic compound; (C) water; and (D) a gelling agent. The self-curable water-based solid adhesives of the present invention can be applied with good workability, have good fitting after attachment, have good adhesion to plastics, metals and glass and exhibit excellent heat resistance and water resistance after curing. They are highly safe to humans and the environment. They also have excellent shape retention and slidability and can be easily applied. In addition, they can bond adherends by contact bonding despite that they are water-based solid adhesives. Accordingly, the self-curable water-based solid adhesives of this invention are very useful as stick adhesives.

    摘要: The present invention is a hot melt adhesive composition comprising at least one ingredient present in an encapsulated form. The encapsulated ingredient may be any known hot melt adhesive formulation ingredient as well as any hot melt adhesive additive such as antioxidants and fragrances for which there is a desirable change in adhesive properties by isolating such ingredient for a duration of time. The encapsulated ingredient is released from the shell by means of pressure, temperature, diffusion, pH, light, radiation, ultrasound, and combinations thereof. Hot melt adhesive compositions comprising at least one encapsulated ingredient are useful for a variety of novel products including self-supported friction glue sticks, non-tacky pelletized pressure sensitive adhesives, cohesive adhesive systems, hot melt adhesive compositions exhibiting improved thermal stability and odor, as well as for a variety of other adhesive applications.

    摘要: A hot-melt adhesive of ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and tackifying resin can be spread into a thin layer that remains tacky for more than 5 seconds, after which a bond can be made without applying heat or more than hand pressure. Within a short period of time, the adhesive crystallizes so that the bond becomes creep-resistant. The temperature at which this hot-melt adhesive can be spread into thin layers is significantly lower than could be used with prior hot-melt adhesives that develop creep resistance.
