    摘要： A system for maintaining calender rolls of a paper machine clean when producing high-gloss paper or coated paper, such as LWC or MWC. To prevent a coating agent, such as coating dye, from adhering onto and soiling a smooth surface of a calender roll, with an overheating phenomenon, the system has a second measurement station (10) provided with measuring and indicator means for producing an output indicating soiledness of the web (W) or a humidity profile. When the output of the second measurement station (10) indicates excessive soiledness or an uneven humidity profile, the system performs at least one of: cleaning the surface of the smooth-surfaced calender roll; changing the nip load in the calender (5); making a correction adjustment of the CD-directional humidity profile of the web (W); cutting the web (W) and conducting it into the pulper; and/or changing the running speed of the web (W).

    摘要： Cleaning apparatus, and a method of utilization of the apparatus, cleans an object with a moving surface, such as a roll. The cleaning apparatus includes a nozzle head with a suction nozzle and a jet nozzle for emitting a liquid jet towards the roll. A sub-pressure is maintained in a chamber of the suction nozzle in order to evacuate liquid and released impurities with the aid of air flowing through a gap between the roll and the orifice edge. The jet nozzle is spaced from the inside of the suction nozzle and at the center of the suction nozzle to form a circumferential passage, the passage communicating with an evacuation pipe. The nozzle head also includes a structure to supply compressed air into the chamber through the gap in order to encounter and carry with it toward the passage liquid and impurities, cooperating with the suction effect maintained in the chamber and the evacuation pipe. The compressed air also has the advantage of drying the roll treated with liquid.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for cleaning the surface of a backing roll in a coater or a calender roll. The roll is cleaned by injecting steam from a steam injection chamber against the roll surface at a 15.degree. angle counter to the rotational direction of the roll. Steam impinging on the surface performs effective removal of accumulated dirt and the detached dirt is carried away on the web without a deleterious effect on the quality of the web. Steam injected against the roll is vacuumed away from the roll surface via a suction chamber, whereby the cleaning steam is prevented from escaping to the surroundings.

    摘要： A rolling device or roller mill having a controlled-deflection roll possessing a stationary roll support or carrier mounted in a frame of the rolling mill. A tubular roll shell is rotatable about the roll support and bears thereon by means of at least one bearing or support element. The roll shell is provided at its ends with guide members which are rotatably mounted in the roll shell and which are guided on the roll support in the direction of the pressing or disengaging movement of the roll shell. The controlled-deflection roll is equipped with a scraper device having a scraper blade which, during operation, is in contact with the outer surface of the roll shell, the scraper device being rotatably mounted on the frame. At least one of the guide members has a disengaging or lift-off element which, when the roll shell performs a disengaging or lift-off movement from the operative position, abuts a part of the blade support or carrier and raises the blade off the surface of the roll shell.
