摘要： A wall member is formed of a covered frame having upper and lower profiles and connecting lateral profiles. A seal is set in the edges of each of upper and lower profiles and is provided with means for raising and lowering the seal relative to the profile. The lateral profiles are provided with covers which extend beyond the upper and lower profiles. The covers are provided with recesses at the ends to enable seals to extend therethrough beyond the lateral profiles. A winch and cable system within the frame is provided to displace the seals.

For example, some embodiments include a movable partition that is comprised of a plurality of panels that each hang from the ceiling, where the interface between two partitioned panels includes various gaskets, damping elements, and perforations that mitigate sound transmission from one side of the partition to the other. Other features of the partition (and panels that make up the partition) include upper and lower drops seals that in some embodiments have a labyrinth-like design and thus mitigate the flow of air between the partition and the ceiling/floor. Also, a membrane positioned inside the panel is disclosed that is especially effective at mitigating low frequency sound, for example.

摘要： An interior partition system wherein with relatively few components, most of which can be roll formed from common sets of roller dies, a wide variety of interior screens or full height partitions can be constructed, thus avoiding the necessity of the manufacture and inventory of a large number of parts. For some parts, where volume may not justify the investment in the required roll sets, other manufacturing techniques may be employed, but such parts are readily compatible with the high volume components and usable interchangeably therewith. In the preferred form, a verticaless panel is constructed having a roll formed slotted, recessed edge which includes a double thickness folded flange of special configuration so that adjacent panels may readily be secured together either with a multipurpose co-extruded plastic zipper strip which will provide the desired light and sound seal, accommodate a wide variety of surface finishes and provide an appearance cover for the recessed slots yet providing access thereto for hanging components or accessories to the screen or partition, or a spring metal panel connector.

摘要： An adjustable modular partition including at least three layers of interconnected fire-resistant and sound-deadening material with adjusting means located thereon to adjust the vertical height of the partition module to accommodate various vertical dimensional differences in a room. Each module is provided with means for interconnection with an adjacent module with similar adjusting structure to accommodate vertical variations and dimensions. The structure for interconnecting adjacent modules and the respective adjusting structure also has sound-deadening and fire-resistant qualities to maintain the integrity of the partition system. Minimal connecting apparatus is required to install the partition in fixed position within a room. The adjustable structure includes a U-shaped channel adapted to be mounted to the floor and to receive the bottom of the partition. A W-shaped channel is provided and is adapted to be fastened to a ceiling and to receive the top of the partition therein. Vertical variation structure is provided in at least one of the U-shaped channel and the W-shaped channel so as to cooperate therewith in retaining the partition in fixed position with respect to the floor and ceiling.
