摘要： A flexible roofing fastener is provided for securing water resistant material to a substrate such as wood and preventing leaks through holes created in the material by the roofing fastener. The roofing fastener includes a resilient disk having a flat lower surface, a thick central region and an annular region having a thickness that tapers downwardly from a central area toward a periphery. The disk central region has a plurality of evenly spaced apart flat-headed nails extending downwardly there through. The annular region having plurality of holes through which sealing material can flow. A flexible disk, when upload flexes in a cup shape causing wedge effect on the anchoring points in the substrate, allowing this fastener to perform better when under a simulated wind uplift testing of various modified bitumen Roof Systems.

摘要： An insulated roof deck system which can be used in installing metal roofs is set forth. The system includes a plurality of metal purlins (10), a plurality of metal roof panels (2), a plurality of thermal insulation blocks (4), cleats (14), and threaded fasteners (12). The metal purlins (10) can form a parallel array of purlins. The metal roof panels (2) can be attached to the metal purlins (10) in the parallel array. The thermal insulation blocks (4) can be disposed between the metal purlin (10) and the metal roof panel (2). The cleat (14) can be disposed between the thermal insulation blocks (4) and the metal roof panel (2) and has a protrusion which is capable of securing the thermal insulation block (4) and inhibits lateral movement between the thermal insulation block (4) and the cleat (14). The threaded fastener (12) secures the metal roof panel (2), the cleat (14), and the thermal insulation block (4) to the metal purlin (10). The threaded fastener (12) can include one or more unthreaded regions sufficient to reduce or prevent over-tightening during use.

摘要： An anchor plate for securing a membrane to a sub-structure such as a roof, tunnel, tank etc. The plate has an elevated bonding platform and a enlarged central countersink, sufficiently deep to accommodate the head of a fastening screw, without the screw head protruding above the top profile of the anchor plate when the screw secures the plate to the underlying substructure. The height difference between the bonding platform and the base of the countersink together with the fact that the countersink area is wider than the head of the screw ensures that when the screw is fastened to the underlying substructure, the bonding platform does not flex. The bonding platform carries a heat activated adhesive which is inductively heated to secure an overlying membrane to the substructure.

摘要： A swiveling roofing washer for use with a roofing fastener has a plate. The plate defines a centrally positioned fastener opening. The plate further has a bottom surface for engagement to a roofing membrane, and an oppositely positioned top surface. 摘要： A composite stress plate for securing insulation to a roof deck with a fastener includes a metal plate having a drawn central cup with a concentric aperture and a plastic insert having a central throughbore for receiving the fastener in a threaded manner. The plastic insert may have a hub which corresponds in shape to and is adapted to snappingly engage the concentric aperture in the metal plate, or the insert may be received by the cup in the metal plate and retained therein. Means for preventing relative rotation between the plastic insert and the metal plate are provided in either case. A plurality of depressed ramps are disposed within the plate having cleats for engaging the insulation. The ramps enhance alignment of the composite stress plate on a barrel assembly of an installation tool and precise placement of the threaded fastener into the roof deck is achieved. The barrel assembly has a plate retaining member having an engagement face with a plurality of locator projections extending downwardly therefrom. The locator projections may include three metal studs for insertion into the ramps. The locator projections engage the plate at three contact points to hold the stress plate against rotation while the fastener is being threaded through the plastic insert and into the roof deck by the installation tool.

摘要： A seamless tube useful in making a roofing batten is extruded from a polymeric material consisting essentially of a major amount of poly(ethylene terephthalate) and a minor amount of at least one polyolefin, flattened in a vacuum sizer so as to define two plies, and milled and drawn so as to orient the tube longitudinally. As milled and drawn, the tube is oriented so as to have a tensile strength of at least about 25,000 psi in a longitudinal direction. The plies are punched so as to have holes therethrough at spaced intervals along the tube. When used to make a roofing batten to coact with conventional fasteners, such as roofing screws, the tube exhibits superior characteristics of split resistance and pull-through resistance.

摘要： A composite fastener comprised of a roofing screw and a roofing washer. The screw shank has a leading portion, which is threaded, and a locking portion. The locking portion has a substantially frusto-conical part adjoining the leading portion and an additional part adjoining the screw head. The substantially frusto-conical part defines a major diameter where it adjoins the additional part and a minor diameter where it adjoins the leading portion. Two locking tabs extend from the substantially frusto-conical part, in diametric opposition to each other, in such manner that an imaginary cylinder coaxial with the shank and with a diameter equal to the major diameter divides each tab into a proximal part inside the cylinder and a distal part outside the cylinder. The washer has an aperture with a margin that flexes the tabs to allow the tabs to pass through the aperture.
