摘要： A reinforced pole structure used in the construction of a swimming pool safety barrier fence having flexible, lightweight mesh panels attached to a spaced arrangement of vertically oriented metal poles, wherein a lower end portion of each pole is fitted within a mounting receptacle in the deck. Each pole includes a bendable reinforcement insert fixed within a hollow interior of the pole at a lower end zone extending from a bottom end of the pole and beyond the lower end portion. The reinforcement insert includes a PVC pipe section with a solid core. In the event a metal pole breaks at the lower end zone as a result of an external force applied thereto, the reinforcement insert can be bent back straight, thereby allowing the pole to be used functionally until replaced with a new pole.

A tri-truss assembly may provide stability and support to a gate that is part of a portable or temporary fencing system. A tri-truss assembly may be configured to support a self-closing gate that is part of a pool fence. A tri-truss assembly may include three vertical support members. Two of the three vertical support members may include pins configured to be placed within pre-drilled holes in a surface in order to maintain the tri-truss assembly upright. A third vertical support may be a different length (shorter or longer) than the first two vertical support members and include an adjustable foot, such as a threaded bolt, configured to contact the surface and provide additional stability and/or support.

摘要： A swimming pool safety cover of the solid fabric variety includes a flexible cover fabric formed of a plurality of reinforced thermoplastic polymer pieces assembled and heat sealed along their edges to form a unitary cover conforming to the shape of the pool and a plurality of anchor straps, each strap extending along a portion of and heat sealed to one side of the cover and projecting outwardly from, and spaced apart along, the periphery of the cover. The projecting portion of each anchor strap is sufficiently long to attach to the hardware and the portion of each strap extending along and heat sealed to the cover is no longer than one to three times the length of the projecting portion.

摘要： Anti-entrapment drain cover [A] for pools is formed by a molded wheel-like cover unit [10] of radial dimensions greater than the radius of any pool sump or drain [10] to be covered, so as to extend over the drain floor radially beyond the drain. Radial ribs [14] below the cover unit define channels opening at the periphery to provide a side inlet [18] between each rib pair so that the periphery stands off the surface sufficiently for water flow through the inlets but with spacing insufficient for user grasping of the cover. Arcuate inlet recesses [20] open periphery between rib pairs, so water flows into the channels for draining without potential for pool user entrapment even if a pool user attempts to block them. Securements are such that the cover, which is user unbreakable, cannot be pulled away by the user.

摘要： A security fence for swimming pools is provided to be so positioned as to surround the water of a swimming pool. The security fence comprises fence sections which are linked to an alarm system. The fence sections are moveable between a non-signaling position and an alarm signaling position. When the fence sections are in the non-signaling position and a given fence section is engaged with sufficient force it is moved to the alarm signaling position thereby signaling the alarm. The foregoing prevents a user, such as a child, from entering the pool water when the alarm system has been activated.

摘要： Electronic Tags are mounted on swimmers to reduce their risk of drowning by identifying when their heads are underwater for periods of time which may indicate a dangerous submersion situation, and for triggering corresponding alerts and alarms. In this method, each monitored person is equipped with a lightweight electronic Tag worn on the head that communicates with monitors that issue the alerts and alarms, including audible and visible distress signals. The Tags comprise electrodes mounted on each side of a swimmer's head that close a circuit when said swimmer's nose or mouth is in the water. After a certain period of time, if the circuit is still closed, an alarm is sent to said monitors. The monitors, in turn, communicate the alarms to receivers used by supervisory personnel, such as lifeguards or parents. The invention may be used in aquatic environments, such as public recreation facilities, pools, waterfronts, and water parks, as well as in more private settings, such as homes, apartment buildings or hotels.
