    摘要: A refrigerator door locking assembly is provided for selectively locking and unlocking refrigerator and freezer doors. The assembly includes a cabinet having a perimeter wall. An outer edge of the perimeter wall defines an open face into the cabinet. A first door is pivotally coupled to the cabinet selectively covering the open face. A conduit extends through the perimeter wall of the cabinet. The conduit has an upper end and a lower end. A first slit extends through the outer edge of the perimeter wall into the conduit. A first hook is coupled to the door and is inserted through the first slit into the conduit when the first door is in a closed position covering the open face. A rod is coupled to the cabinet and positioned in the conduit. The rod selectively engages the first hook whereby the first door is held in the closed position.

    摘要: A latch mechanism for a vehicle, e.g., a snowmobile, includes a latch and a base. The latch is resiliently coupled to the base using a resilient member, for example, a ring-shaped member. The latch is movable, e.g., pivotable, between first and second stable positions. In the first stable position, the latch can be inserted through an aperture in the base, and in the second stable position, the latch can be moved or pivoted to secure the base with respect to the latch. The base may be attached to a cover member for an engine compartment of the vehicle. In the second stable position, a tab of the latch engages against a first engageable surface of the base, and portion of the latch opposite the tab includes a second engagement surface that cooperates with a second engageable surface provided on the base.

    摘要: A security latch mechanism suited for use with a splice chamber in a building telephone entrance terminal. The mechanism includes a latch member having a hook at its top end for engaging a splice chamber cover. A stem arrangement including a fastening member joins a bottom end of the latch member to part of the entrance terminal while permitting the latch member to move between a latch open position and a latch closed position. A spring mechanism associated with the fastening member urges the latch member toward the open position. The fastening member has a head for governing movement of the latch member, wherein the latch member advances toward the entrance terminal and its hook engages the splice chamber cover to define the latch closed position when the fastening member head is operated in a first sense, and the latch member advances toward the splice chamber cover and the hook disengages the cover to define the latch open position when the fastening member is operated in a second sense.

    摘要: An automatically disengaing locking device is provided for use on a container having a hinged lid pivotable between open and closed positions. The locking device consists of a housing mounted to the side surface of the container, and a latch securable to the lid having a portion which extends through an opening in the housing when the lid is closed. The locking device further includes a keeper element disposed within the housing for engaging the lower portion of the latch to secure the lid in its closed position, a manual release mechanism comprising a plunger for allowing the selective disengagement of the keeper from the latch, and a pendulum for automatically disengaging the keeper from the latch when the container is tilted for emptying.

    摘要: A lock mechanism includes a driving arm having an arm portion and a fixing portion and a lock rod having first and second ends and a pivot portion. The pivot portion is pivoted to one of a cover and a casing. The fixing portion is disposed on the one of the cover and the casing so as to make a free end of the arm portion interfere with an interference portion of the lock rod. The arm portion swings to a first position or a second position when receiving force. When the first end or the second end is pressed, the interference portion drives the free end to make the arm portion swing to the first or second position, so as to make the lock rod move to a locking position for fixing the cover on the casing or a releasing position for releasing the cover from the casing.

    摘要: An electric door lock assembly including a solenoid having a plunger movable between retracted and extended positions, and a mounting bracket for mounting the solenoid to a door or door frame so that the plunger operatively moves along a vertical axis between the retracted and extended positions. A locking arm or bolt is pivotally connected at a proximal end thereof to the plunger. A connecting arrangement causes rotational and linear pivoting of the arm relative to a horizontal axis as the plunger is moved between the retracted and extended positions such that a distal end of the arm moves between unlocked and locked positions relative to a keeper in the door. This arrangement can include the locking arm having an elongate axial slot in which a fixed pin of the mounting bracket is positioned; the pivot pin defining the horizontal axis. The proximal end of the locking arm is pivotally connected to the bottom end of the plunger. Thereby, as the plunger travels up and down the proximal end moves up and down, and the locking arm slides relative to the pin, resulting in the rotational and linear pivoting.

    摘要: An electromagnetic latching assembly is disclosed that provides a mechanically advantageous holding force for securing two objects relative to one another. Generally, the assembly contains at least one and preferably two levers that are mounted to a frame so that they may pivot between open and closed positions. The frame is mounted to a first object and the lever(s) applies a holding force to a second object when the lever(s) is in the closed position. A permanent magnet is used to apply a magnetic restraining force to maintain the lever(s) in the closed position. The magnetic restraining force utilizes the leverage of the lever(s) to effectively apply an amplified holding force to the second object when the assembly is in the closed position. An electromagnet, which may be remotely actuated, is utilized selectively counteract the magnetic restraining force and allow the latch assembly to open and release the second object.
