A vertical portion of the frame comprises a plurality of apertures in axial alignment allowing a wide variety of fastening means to be used to secure the frame in a number of configurations. A gate-receiving bracket is hingedly secured to the frame and is adapted to accomodate a wide variety of gate sizes. Actuator means are provided to move the gate receiving bracket, and the gate carried thereon, between an open and a closed position.

For example, in some embodiments the motor drive assembly includes a track, a lead runner, and a plurality of sensors. The track can have a plurality of coils that can be electrically activated to generate an electromagnetic field to cause the lead runner to slide along the track. The lead runner may include magnet housing with a magnet to interact with the electromagnetic field. In some embodiments, the plurality of sensors or switches can be disposed between the coils. The sensors can be configured to activate the electromagnetic field locally to cause the lead runner to slide along the track. Examples of the sensors or switches include, but are not limited to, a reed switch, a silicone magnetic switch, an optical switch, a mechanical limit switch, a proximity switch, a magnetic encoder, or an optical encoder.

摘要： A housing and telescoping arm are supported by a shaft pivot pivotally mounted in the ground. The telescoping arm includes a rotating rod actuator journalled for rotation in a bearing mounted atop the shaft. The rod includes a threaded portion extending longitudinally from the shaft to the gate. A traveling tubular member is mounted concentrically with the rod and includes a block having a threaded bore for receiving the threads of the rod. The arm is connected to the gate through a pinned connection between one end of the traveling member and a lower rail of the gate. Relative rotation between the rod an the traveling member is prevented by the pinned connection. As a result, the traveling member extends outwardly and retracts inwardly in response to the counter-clockwise and clockwise rotation respectively of the rod. A motor and transmission for driving the rod in rotation are mounted in the housing along with a motor control circuit. The motor control circuit receives a start switch signal and shuts the motor off after the gate has swung to either the open or closed positions by receiving a stop signal from a limit switch. The direction of the motor is reversed each time a signal is received from a limit switch so that the gate is alternately opened and closed by the apparatus. The apparatus can be used in areas not supplied with commercial power, since it is battery powered. A solar cell panel recharges the battery so that a completely self-sufficient operation is provided.

摘要： The present invention is for an automatic gate opening device where commercial electricity is not economically available. A hydraulic cylinder operated by a bidirectional gear pump moves a cylinder rod which connects to an opening rod. The opening rod is pivotally connected to one end to the gate and on the other end to a stationary location. Due to pivotal connections and a pivotal linkage near the middle of the opening rod, the gate may be opened and closed by the hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder is also pivotally mounted. Electronic controls may be operated by a number of different type sensors, including limit switches on the hydraulic cylinder, sensors for detecting the gate location, manual switches or other traditional vehicle approach sensors. Power is provided by a storage battery, which battery can be recharged during daylight hours at a solar panel or by a traditional battery charger.
