    摘要: Disclosed is a liquid inertia tool in which the kinetic energy of flowing liquid is converted to useful work by decelerating the liquid flow and directing the inertia force in the water against a movable element in the liquid flowcontaining structure which in turn moves against a work piece. Flow deceleration is achieved by an orifice-effect valve. The valve is reset for flow resumption or acceleration by automatically or selectively applying hydraulic pressure to a reset mechanism. Use of the inertia tool in pile driving and punch press applications is disclosed.

    摘要: A flow rate control valve for use with an actuator, in which a fluid may be quickly discharged from a cylinder in the actuator on a return stroke of a piston which is slidingly fitted in the cylinder. The valve includes a casing defining a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port, a fluid passage interconnecting the two ports, a throttle valve for restricting the opening of the fluid passage, and a pressure-regulating valve which is adapted to be open at pressures over a given pressure level. In this flow rate control valve, the throttle valve and pressure adjusting valve may be combined into a composite valve. An externally adjustable pressure adjusting spring, resiliently biasses the pressure regulating valve.

    摘要: Impact tools are described which are capable of developing percussive forces for rock drilling and other repetitive high force applications. A hydroacoustic oscillator contained in such tools includes a hammer and a valve mechanism which is actuated by the hammer for controlling the flow of pressurized fluid so as to establish pressure variations which sustain the oscillation of the hammer. A number of alternative valve mechanisms are disclosed, each including a valve element, the motion of which is controlled by controlling the flow of fluid with respect to the valve element as the hammer and valve element move relative to each other. Such flow control is afforded by chambers defined by the valve element; hydraulic fluid flow with respect to which is controlled so as to determine the deceleration of the valve element and the motion of the element in its actuation by the hammer.
