摘要: A rail vehicle has a diesel engine, an engine radiator and a cooling circuit that connects the diesel engine to the engine radiator. A cooling liquid is circulated in the cooling circuit, a cooling liquid temperature of the circulated cooling liquid and an outer air temperature of the atmospheric outer air are detected. The outer air temperature is compared with the outer air limit temperature, the cooling power of the engine radiator is set in such a way that the cooling liquid temperature corresponds to a normal operating temperature if the outer air temperature is less than the outer air limit temperature. The cooling power of the engine radiator is set such that the cooling liquid temperature corresponds to a lower operating temperature below the normal operating temperature if the outer air temperature is greater than the outer air limit temperature.

摘要: A method for controlling a fan. The method includes determining an actual air flow over an engine of a vehicle at a current time, and determining a necessary air flow over the engine for maintaining an appropriate engine coolant temperature. The actual air flow is associated with the vehicle traveling in a first direction. The method further includes estimating a future air flow over the engine that is associated with the vehicle travelling in a second direction. The method also includes controlling a fan operating characteristic based on the actual, necessary, and future air flows.

摘要: An engine cooling system includes a liquid-to-air heat exchanger having an associated fan and a pump forcing convection and a controller communicating with the fan and the pump, the controller increasing fan speed in response to a first gradient in heat transfer rate to power exceeding a second gradient in heat transfer rate to power for increasing pump speed, and increasing pump speed when the second gradient is greater than the first gradient. The controller may increase the pump speed in response to a desired increase in heat transfer rate. The first gradient may be based on a gradient in heat transfer rate to air flow from a map of heat exchanger performance. The second gradient may be based on a gradient in heat transfer rate to coolant from a map of heat exchanger performance.

摘要: A method for controlling a fan. An ECU estimates the time for an engine to reach a substantially decreased engine load relative to a current engine load. The ECU determines whether the time to reach the substantially decreased engine load is within a threshold. And the ECU controls a fan operating characteristic based on whether the time is within the threshold.

摘要: A work vehicle includes an engine, an exhaust gas purification apparatus, a reducing agent tank, an engine coolant circuit, a branch path, a valve, an accepting portion, a valve control unit, a fan, a radiator, a thermostat, and a fan control unit. The valve control unit gives an instruction for an opening operation of the valve in response to the operation instruction from the operator accepted by the accepting portion. The fan generates cooling wind in an engine room. The radiator cools the engine coolant with the cooling wind. The thermostat is provided between the circulation path and the radiator and operates to open for supplying the engine coolant to the radiator when a temperature of the engine coolant is equal to or higher than a prescribed temperature. The fan control unit increases the number of rotations of the fan in response to the operation instruction.

The cooling requirements of the engine vary for each portion or segment of a work cycle. The disclosed system includes a controller with a memory having a plurality of stored work cycle patterns. Using a variety of sensors, the system and controller identities the work cycle that the machine is carrying out and, using one of the stored work cycle patterns, the system anticipates the cooling requirements of the machine as the machine progresses through the work cycle and the system proactively changes the fan speed for upcoming segments of the work cycle.

摘要: A method and a system for controlling a vehicle cooling system includes: a velocity prediction unit makes a prediction of at least one future velocity profile vpred for the vehicle; a temperature prediction unit predicts at least one future temperature profile Tpred for at least one component in the vehicle, based on at least tonnage for the vehicle; information related to a section of road ahead of the vehicle and on the at least one future velocity profile vpred. A cooling system control unit controls the cooling system based on the at least one future temperature profile Tpred and on a limit value temperature Tcomp—lim for the respective at least one component in the vehicle so that a number of fluctuations of an inlet temperature Tcomp—fluid—in—radiator for the cooling fluid flow into the radiator is reduced and/or so that a magnitude of the flow into the radiator is reduced when a temperature derivative dT/dt for the inlet temperature Tcomp—fluid—in—radiator exceeds a limit value dT/dtlim for the temperature derivative.

摘要: A method for controlling a water pump of a vehicle moving a coolant circulating through a cooling load generating heat and a radiator includes calculating a rotation speed command based on a control reference temperature of the coolant. A water pump suction pressure is set and compared with a preset control reference pressure to control the rotation speed command. A system for controlling the water pump includes a first temperature sensor for detecting a temperature of a coolant exhausted from the cooling load and a second temperature sensor for detecting a temperature of the coolant to be supplied to the cooling load. A water pump pressure sensor detects a water pump suction pressure, and a water pump driver drives the water pump. A controller controls the water pump driver based on signals received from the first temperature sensor, the second temperature sensor, and the water pump pressure sensor.
