    摘要: The invention relates to a method for the operation of a steam thermal engine, whereby the hot steam from a working medium is converted into kinetic energy, by means of a pressure-releasing device (1). The working medium is heated in a boiler (6) to a low temperature, preferably boiling point at a low pressure, steam is taken from the boiler (6) to a pressure chamber (7, 8), in which the steam is heated to a higher temperature. Liquid working medium (or condensate) is injected from the boiler (6) into the pressure chamber (7, 8) whereupon the working medium is instantaneously evaporated, such that the pressure in the pressure chamber (7, 8) rises markedly and the steam is fed from the pressure chamber (7, 8) to the pressure-releasing device (1).

    摘要: An oilless air motor assembly useable for driving hydraulic pumps and the like includes a slide valve that moves back and forth relative to a valve sleeve situated about the slide valve. A low friction or lubricious dry seal member is disposed between the slide valve and the valve sleeve, thereby eliminating the need for added oil or lubricant and additionally avoiding the need for precise machining and matching (e.g., honing and lapping) of the slide valve and valve sleeve. Also provided is a kit for converting a previously manufactured air motor assembly that requires oil or added lubricant to an oilless air motor assembly. Such kit comprises the slide valve, valve sleeve and dry seal member as well as other optional parts associated with those elements.

    摘要: A hybrid homogeneous charge compression ignition and spark ignition engine is disclosed. The engine comprises at least one cylinder including at least one intake valve and at least one exhaust valve. A pair of camshafts is used. The first camshaft is structured and arranged to operate at least one of the intake valves and the second camshaft is structured and arranged to operate at least one of the exhaust valves. The engine also includes a variable camshaft timing device operatively connected to the camshafts for operating the engine in a homogeneous charge compression ignition mode and in a spark ignition mode. A method of operating the homogeneous charge compression ignition and spark ignition engine is also disclosed. The method includes the steps of operating at least one of the intake valves by a first camshaft, operating at least one of the exhaust valves by a second camshaft and determining an engine load condition. The method also includes operating at least one of the camshafts by a variable camshaft timing device based on the determined engine load condition. This allows the engine to operate using homogenous charge compression ignition when the engine is in a low load condition and to operate using spark ignition when the engine is in a high load condition. Operation in the full load condition is also included with and without supercharging or turbocharging.
