    摘要: A carburetor assembly includes a base plate (12) having an air bypass passage (30) extending there through, with air channels (71-74) formed in the surface of the base plate intersecting the air bypass passage and each of the butterfly bores (25-28) of the base plate. An adjustable air bypass valve (31) is mounted on the base plate and controls the movement of air through the bypass passage. A valve needle (50) is adjustably mounted to the valve body (48) for adjustably constricting the flow of fluid through the radially extending air inlet ports (60) and through the base plate air bypass passage, to allow for the adjustment of the volume of the air delivered to the engine at idle speed, independently of the movements of the butterfly valves.

    摘要: An intake head device for an internal combustion engine, which is suitable for impulse charging and/or residual exhaust gas purging, including a pressure accumulator (24) which may apply overpressure to the pressure passage via a pressure passage, so that this produces residual exhaust gas purging of the cylinder (16) when the inlet valve (18) is open and the impulse flap (21) is closed. The impulse charging is performed by a partial vacuum which is generated in the accumulator passage (22) by the air intake of the cylinder (16). The pressure accumulator arrangement of the invention has the advantage that the closing time of the flap (21) may be longer.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine is provided with valve means for admitting air to the engine inlet manifold downstream of the throttle valve, and the valve means is operative to pass air to the inlet manifold under engine over-run conditions when the throttle valve is closed, the supply of fuel is cut-off and the engine speed is substantially above idling speed. There is also described a fuel injection system having a plurality of fuel injection valves arranged to supply fuel to an engine and including means which are operative, after the supply of fuel has been cut-off during engine over-run conditions, to deliver fuel to the engine via a plurality of the fuel injection valves simultaneously.

    摘要: A technique is provided for improved response of internal combustion engines to increased load demands. The engine is equipped with an air storage tank that stores compressed air. The air may be stored at an elevated pressure (e.g., manifold air pressure) during normal full load operation of the engine. Valving maintains the compressed air isolated during normal operation. During transitory periods of higher power output demand, the compressed air is directed to the engine, and output of a turbo-driven compressor can be vented to avoid surge. The technique allows for quicker reaction to load demands, and improved combustion during transitory periods, and reduced particulate and smoke emissions.

    摘要: A jet-propelled watercraft capable of maintaining a propulsion force required for a turn made at the same time as closing of a throttle valve. The jet-propelled watercraft has an auxiliary intake valve and an ECU. The auxiliary intake valve in an intake pipe opens/closes an auxiliary intake passage to bypass a throttle valve. The ECU performs control such that an opening of the auxiliary intake valve in a state where the rotation speed of the engine is not lower than a threshold value is larger than the opening of the auxiliary intake valve in a state where the engine is idling. When in a state where the rotation speed is not lower than the threshold value, it is detected that the throttle valve is completely closed and that a steering mechanism has been turned by a prescribed angle or more, a current opening of the auxiliary intake valve is maintained.
