    摘要： A system of mechanical components that operate cooperatively to control evaporation of fuel or hydrocarbon leakage from engines is disclosed. In at least some embodiments, the system of mechanical components comprises a first valve assembly and a second valve assembly. The first valve assembly, which functions as a fuel-shut off valve assembly, governs whether fuel can proceed from a fuel bowl into a carburetor, and when closed, prevents fuel vapors from developing within the carburetor. The second valve assembly, which functions as a “vapor venting control valve assembly,” has an input port that is coupled by way of a fuel tank vapor hose to both a fuel tank and to the fuel bowl. When in a closed state, the second valve assembly controls the fuel vapors, which are provided to its input port from the fuel tank and the fuel bowl, from being communicated to an output port of the second valve assembly.

    摘要： A recoil starter for an internal combustion engine has a housing with a pulley carried at least in part for rotation therein. The pulley is arranged in operable communication with a crankshaft of the engine. A pull cord is wound about the pulley with one end of the cord being arranged to be pulled by a user to rotate the pulley. An actuator is carried for rotation in response to rotation of the pulley. A pump is arranged for actuation in response to rotation of the actuator to provide fresh liquid fuel to a carburetor and remove fuel vapor and stale fuel from the carburetor and deliver it to a fuel tank prior to starting the engine.

    摘要： Disclosed herein is an improvement in a variable venturi carburetor for an internal combustion engine which comprises a venturi portion, a float chamber, a main fuel passage communicating with the venturi portion and with the float chamber, a main fuel jet provided in the main fuel passage and a movable metering needle. A free end of the metering needle is adapted to control the size of the main fuel jet and the base portion of the metering needle is mounted to a suction piston adapted to transversely move with respect to the venturi portion in response to the condition of load on the internal combustion engine. The improvement includes provision of a bypass detouring upwardly from a portion of the main fuel passage upstream of the main fuel jet for discharging vapor of fuel, and the bypass communicates with a negative pressure passage which has an opening in the lower portion of the venturi portion and with an air passage which has an opening in the vicinity of an air horn inlet.
