More specifically, the invention relates to a method and device for monitoring and controlling a hydraulic actuated process indirectly by monitoring and controlling an electric motor driving a positive displacement hydraulic pump. Direct coupling of the pump to a primary mover (motor) and related motor control allows for complete motion control of a hydraulically driven machine without the use of any downstream devices. By employing motion control algorithms in the motor control, the hydraulic output at the pump head is controlled in a feed forward method.

    摘要: The fluid pump has a casing defining an inlet manifold, an outlet manifold and a plurality of piston chambers between the inlet manifold and the outlet manifold, each piston chamber having a piston therein for drawing fluid into the piston chamber from the inlet manifold and for pumping fluid out of the piston chamber into the outlet manifold, and a spring biased check valve associated with each piston chamber wherein a spring biases each valve toward the piston chamber and seals the piston chamber from the outlet manifold, the improvement comprises: at least one of the check valves having a hole therethrough which provides open communication between the outlet manifold and the piston chamber, blocking and sealing structure associated with the check valve for blocking and sealing the opening, and a mechanism for moving the blocking and sealing structure between a first position wherein the hole is blocked and sealed and a second position whereby the hole is not blocked or sealed, such that when the blocking and sealing structure is in the first position, liquid is prevented from flowing from the outlet manifold back into the piston cylinder and thereby causes fluid to exit the pump in a continuous flow and when the blocking and sealing structure is in the second position fluid can flow from the outlet manifold into the piston cylinder and fluid exits the pump in a pulsed or vibratory flow.

    摘要: A rotary peristaltic pump arrangement and method, with a set of specially constructed tube set conduits interchangeably interconnectable in selectively responsively sensed and operationally affecting relationship with the pump. The pump is driven by a pulse-actuated stepping motor, and the total quantity of pulses fed to the pump for any selected volume from one of the conduits is controlled by and as a function of which one of the set of plural sizes of tube set conduits is connected to the pump. The control is automatically affected through actuation or nonactuation of at least one switch sensor on the pump by special anchor-connecting flanges on the tube set conduits which interchangeably mate in anchored connection with corresponding anchor-connection slots on the pump and adjacent one which the switch sensor is disposed. Inaccuracies in volume pumped for a given quantity of pulses applied to the pump to effect a selected desired volume are minimized by adjusting the total quantity of pulses applied to the pump for a given desired volume, and/or for subsequent selected volumes, if desired, as a function of the ratio of the given desired volume relative to actual volume pumped by the application to the pump of the quantity of pulses estimated or calculated to be required for pumping the given desired volume through a given tube set conduit.

    摘要: A method and apparatus provide for selective generation of pulses at water jets of a jet nozzle terminating a high pressure cleaning hose of a sewer cleaning machine. A ball valve is connected as a pressure bleeder to the high pressure side of the sewer cleaning machine pump and hence, the cleaning hose, for relieving pressure from the hose when the valve is open. A motor is connected to operate a rotatable element of the ball valve to automatically cycle the valve and generate a series of high pressure pulses at the water jets to thereby generate a hammering action to assist in penetration of blockages in a sewer being cleaned. The amplitude of the pulses is controlled by a second valve connected to the ball valve and the pulses preferably are generated at a frequency of approximately 3 hertz. The motor may be activated and deactivated by a blockage sensor which detects engagements of the nozzle with blockages formed by concentrations of refuse and debris within a sewer being cleaned.

The apparatus monitors seal leakage as well as the general wellness of the apparatus and can thus be used to provide preventive maintenance feedback. The apparatus includes a liquid chamber, a wash chamber, a reservoir, a supply pump, a return line, and a detector. The liquid chamber includes a seal for sealing a fluid within the liquid chamber. The wash chamber is located adjacent the seal. The reservoir supplies a wash solution to the wash chamber. The supply pump supplies a unidirectional flow of wash solution from the reservoir to the wash chamber. The return line conveys a return flow from the wash chamber to the reservoir, in which the return flow includes any leakage of the fluid from the liquid chamber into the wash chamber and the portion of the wash solution that returns from the wash chamber to the reservoir. The detector determines whether there is a differential between the unidirectional flow and the return flow. A method of monitoring a fluid system is also disclosed.

    摘要: Various functions of a production oil well are monitored to cause a switch closure for each normal cycle of the pump. Alternatively, the level of the fluid within the well is monitored to cause the switch closure. The switch closure activates a first oscillator whose count is compared with a variable frequency oscillator over a given period of time to ascertain the percentage of time of normal operation. The integrated time is adjusted to shut down the system when the percentage of time drops to or below the preselected amount. In response to the integration timer signal, a shutdown timer is turned on which restarts the cycle after a preselected amount of time. When the system is restarted by the shutdown timer, a pump-up timer is turned on which is adjusted to allow for a desired pump-up time. As the pump-up timer is allowing the system to recycle, the integration timer is reset and the recycling is completed if the requirements of the integration timer are met. Otherwise, the unit is shut down again and the system recycled. A variable electronic scaler is connected to the output of the integration timer which monitors the output signals from the integrator timer. After the preset number of times the integration timer produces a signal, unless reset by a normal cycle, the scaler turns off the whole system. It can then be restarted manually.
