    摘要: A cooling device for cooling of a seal fixed in a non-rotatable member and with a circumferential contact surface on a rotating member. A closed ring-formed chamber is arranged in the rotating member radially inside of the seal. The chamber contains an amount of cooling medium which at normal rotating operation is both liquid and gaseous, such that the liquid cooling medium which by centrifugal forces is pressed towards the outer wall of the chamber is evaporated from the heat generated by the seal, and where a cooling member is arranged on the rotating member to cool an area radially inside of the chamber, such that the gaseous cooling medium is condensed from the cooling effect of the cooling member. The invention also relates to a centrifugal separator comprising such a cooling device.

    摘要: A fixing arrangement for a rubber seal for sealing a rolling bearing is proposed which can be easily mounted in position by press-fitting and which prevents rotation of the rubber seal together with the rotary member of the bearing. A thick-walled fitting portion 3 and a protrusion 4 are formed on the radially outer portion of a rubber seal 1 reinforced by a metal core 2. The fitting portion 3 is press-fitted in a seal groove 22 formed in the radially inner surface of an outer race 21 at each end. The protrusion 4 is brought into elastic contact with a large-diameter cylindrical surface 23 formed on the outer race 21. Thus, the rubber seal 1 is fixed in position and prevented from rotating together with the inner race of the bearing.

    摘要: A sealed, self-aligning bearing includes an inner bearing ring with race tracks for rolling bodies, and an outer bearing ring with a race track for the rolling bodies, positioned radially outside the inner bearing ring. At least at one side of the bearing, a bearing seal is arranged axially outside the race tracks and bridges the space between the inner and outer bearing rings. The bearing seal has an outer annular rim fitted in an annular groove in the inner surface of the outer bearing ring and an inner annular rim arranged to slidingly contact the outer surface of the inner bearing ring. The outer rim and the inner rim of the bearing seal are interconnected by an intermediate member formed as a bellows-like thin membrane able to alternatively be stretched and compressed for permitting the bearing rings of the self-aligning bearing to make displacements and/or angular misalignments.

Thus, it is advantageously possible to create rolling bearing devices which have an integrated sensor system and outer dimensions which correspond essentially to the standard outer dimensions for such rolling bearing devices. Moreover, standard rolling bearings can be modified to form inventive rolling bearings by replacement of the bearing sealing ring.

    摘要: A sealed ball bearing for sealing the annular space between the inner and outer races includes a flexible elastomeric washer that is held in place by a retaining ring mounted in a groove on the outer race. The retaining ring has a plurality of radially inwardly directed spring fingers which urge local segments of the washer axially into contact with the ribbon separator of the bearing thereby causing the washer to assume an axially undulating contact pattern with the inner race. When the bearing is rotated, the separator acts in a camming fashion to axially displace the local segments to establish a traveling wave motion in the washer which prevents contaminant buildup.
