    摘要: An apparatus for automatically sensing when the friction elements of a clutch are excessively worn and for generating a signal in response thereto is disclosed. The clutch includes a bearing housing which is adapted to be moved between engaged and disengaged positions. A shift assembly is provided for moving the bearing housing to the disengaged position. The shift assembly includes a pair of fingers which are normally spaced apart from the bearing housing when the clutch is engaged and the friction elements are not worn. However, when the friction elements become worn, the bearing housing engages the fingers of the shift assembly when the clutch is in the engaged position. A sensor is mounted in the bearing housing for generating a signal when the fingers are in contact therewith. The signal may be an electrical signal which is fed to a control circuit. The control circuit includes a timing and comparison circuit which activates an alarm device only when the signal from the sensor has been continuously generated for a predetermined period of time.

    摘要: A device for a clutch which is subject to wear brought about by friction, especially for motor vehicles, for signaling that a wear limit has been reached. The clutch has a pressure plate which is connected, via tangential leaf springs, with a clutch housing so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it, but so as to be axially displaceable, and by way of which a clutch disk provided with friction linings can be pressed against a flywheel of an internal combustion engine. The device has two structural component parts which can be clamped against one another, one of which structural component parts is arranged so as to be movable in the radial direction. A clamping of the structural component parts can be canceled when the wear limit is reached, wherein a movable structural component part springs into another radial position and remains there.

    摘要: A clutch system providing a simplified clutch adjustment which also gives an indication of how much clutch facing remains so that it is known when a clutch face needs replacement. The system mounts the motor armature and flywheel in a bearing structure which is axially shiftable toward the clutch face by utilization of a rotatable element threadedly engaged with the main frame of the motor and which presents against one end of the bearing structure so that it may shift the bearing structure and the entire armature and flywheel by rotation of the threaded element. This threaded element is coupled to the fan cowl of the motor which is in turn held in fixed position by a latching member. With the latching member released, the fan cowl is rotatable to adjust the flywheel, with the fan cowl then being again latched into position to prevent further movement of the flywheel in an axial direction. A color coded strip is affixed to the fan cowl, and by rotation past the latching member indicates how much of the clutch facing remains for further adjustment. An electrical contact is incorporated into the clutch magnet structure so that the contact is engaged by the clutch disc before the clutch disc can engage the clutch magnet structure. Upon engagement of the clutch disc with the electrical contact, an electrical circuit is completed which may be used to stop the motor or actuate an audible or visual alarm, or for any of a desired number of functions.
