    摘要: In accordance with an example embodiment, a friction disk may include friction material positioned on a first side of the disk. The friction material may include a first plurality of grooves extending from an inner diameter of the friction material to an outer diameter of the friction material, and a second plurality of grooves extending in a radial direction from the inner diameter and ending prior to the outer diameter. The second plurality of grooves may have a substantially uniform width. The second plurality of grooves may be both deeper and wider than the first plurality of grooves. The first and second plurality of grooves may be interconnected so that fluid can flow from the second plurality of grooves into the first plurality of grooves.

The friction material includes an outer circumference, an inner circumference, an engagement surface configured for engaging with and disengaging from a mating component and a coined section extending between at least one of the outer circumference and the engagement surface and the inner circumference and the engagement surface. A method of forming a friction material for a motor vehicle drive train component is also provided. The method includes attaching a first axial surface of the friction material to a support and coining at least one of an inner circumference and an outer circumference at a second axial surface of a friction material to form a coined section. The second axial surface is on an opposite side as the first axial surface.

    摘要: A brake pad assembly is provided, including a friction lining providing a wear surface for contacting a brake rotor and a back plate coupled to the friction lining. The back plate is made of a carbon fiber reinforced carbon matrix composite. In one example, a majority of the carbon fibers of the back plate are oriented in a x-y in-plane direction resulting in a structure where the thermal conductivity is at least 2 times greater in the x-y in-plane direction versus a z through-plane direction. In another example, the back plate is provided as at least one sheet of a carbon fiber reinforced carbon matrix composite. A method of manufacturing the brake pad assembly is also provided.

    摘要: A bicycle disc brake pad is used in a disc brake device and is configured to reduce restrictions on backplate material in a disc brake pad for a bicycle in which a friction member is bonded to a backplate by a diffusion bonding method. The bicycle disc brake pad has a backplate, a spray coating layer and a friction member. The surface of the backplate has a spray coat surface. The spray coating layer is a copper or copper alloy layer formed on the spray coat surface. The friction member is bonded to the spray coating layer by a diffusion bonding method. Preferably, the spray coat surface of the backplate is formed with a rough surface on at least part of the spray coat surface.
