    摘要: A continuously variable transmission unit includes a disc drivingly connected to a first shaft, said disc having a frusto-conical groove in its outer periphery, the walls of the groove being inclined inwardly towards one another; an annular element is mounted for rotation about the disc, so that the inner periphery of the annular element is located within the groove, opposite faces of the annular element engaging the opposed walls of the groove. A connection is provided for transmitting rotation of the annular element to an output shaft and the annular element is mounted for rotation on a carrier, the carrier being adjustable radially of the disc to alter the eccentricity of the annular element with respect to the disc and house the drive ratio of the transmission. The transmission unit may drive suitable gear trains to extend the range of drive ratios thereof. Positive drive elements may be included between the disc and annular element.

    摘要: A sealed dual coaxial rotary shaft feedthrough device is provide. The device includes an inner shaft and a hollow outer shaft that is coaxial to encompass the inner shaft. The shafts include coupled drive and driven shafts. The coupling, which may be referred to as an eccentric coupling, causes the driven shaft to rotate with the drive shaft. The rotation is transmitted without breaking the seal by an eccentric portion of either the drive or driven shaft being nutatingly coupled to either a transition cap or transition cup. Nutatingly coupled means rotation of the shaft causes the transition cap or cup to orbit, but not spin, about the longitudinal axis. The nutation is transmitted by the transition cap or cup to the other of the shafts, which rotates.

    摘要: The invention is concerned with a continuously variable transmission incorporating a variator of the type having at least two co-axial races (D1-D4) between which drive is transferred at a continuously variable variator ratio. The variator races are mounted for rotation about a variator shaft (15). The transmission has a layshaft (18) which is laterally separated from the variator shaft. It has two epicyclic gears. A splitter epicyclic (14) has an input member driven from the transmission input (10) and two output members arranged respectively to drive the layshaft and the variator shaft. A recirculater epicyclic has first and second input members for coupling respectively to the variator shaft and to the layshaft and a recirculater output member. An arrangement of clutches is provided for selectively engaging any of at least three regimes. In one regime the recirculater output member drives the transmission output. In another the layshaft drives the transmission output. In a third, the variator shaft drives the transmission output. The arrangement of the components is such that the variator shaft is co-axial with the transmission output, the recirculater epicyclic, a first coupling, between the recirculater output member and the transmission output, which serves to drive the transmission output in the first regime, and a second coupling, between the variator shaft and the transmission output, which serves to drive the transmission output in the third above-mentioned regime.
