Abstract: A power split continuously variable transmission (CVT) technology in which efficiency improvements are obtained by elimination of gear meshing at the 1:1 ratio point. A family of power split transmissions are defined using variable displacement hydraulic devices as the variator and employing rotary couplings as speed summers. Input coupled, output coupled and compound coupled systems are described along with impact of and avoidance of power circulation (aka recirculation). Multiple and bidirectional mechanical channel inputs to the speed summer and clutching mechanisms are described enabling transmissions to reach forward gear ratio ranges with a speed of up to 23× with workable efficiencies throughout which can result in improvement in overall efficiency such as in ICE powertrains as well as permitting CVT function in heavy-duty EV powertrains during acceleration or high-grade conditions where otherwise extremely high torque and sustained low speed operations may induce highly inefficient or drive motor overheat conditions.

Abstract: A working vehicle includes a first hydraulic pump (e.g., a variable displacement pump) with a delivery flow rate controlled by load sensing control, a second hydraulic pump (e.g., a fixed displacement pump), at least one working-machine-related control valve to control at least one working-machine-related hydraulic actuator, a power shift valve to control at least one traveling-power-transmission-related hydraulic actuator, and a power steering controller to control a steering-related hydraulic actuator. The at least one working-machine-related control valve is provided in a first hydraulic system supplied with hydraulic fluid by the first hydraulic pump, and at least one of the power shift valve or the power steering controller is provided in a second hydraulic system supplied with hydraulic fluid by the second hydraulic pump.

Abstract: Ball screw rotary actuator with ball cage. In one embodiment, a ball screw rotary actuator includes an outer cylinder, a piston, and inner shaft. Outer ball bearings travel in helical groove between the outer cylinder and position to rotate the piston as it translates due to fluid pressure. The inner shaft is situated radially inward of the piston, and straight grooves are disposed between the piston and the inner shaft. Inner ball bearings travel in the straight grooves and rotate the inner shaft as the piston rotates. The ball screw rotary actuator also includes an outer ball cage to position the outer ball bearings in a spaced configuration, an outer indexing gear to control a position of the outer ball cage, an inner ball cage to position the inner ball bearings in a spaced configuration, and an inner indexing gear to control a position of the inner ball cage.

Abstract: A front support includes a second boss portion which extends toward a chain drive mechanism and to which a stator shaft is fixed. The second boss portion is inserted into a tubular portion of an impeller hub through a drive sprocket. An oil passage that communicates with a fluid transmission chamber is defined between the inner peripheral surface of the tubular portion and the outer peripheral surface of the stator shaft. A seal member that restricts an inflow of working oil from the oil passage is interposed between the tubular portion and the second boss portion. A shaft-side oil groove and a recessed portion which communicate with an in-case oil passage formed in the front support and the oil passage are formed between the second boss portion and the stator shaft.

Abstract: An HST control mechanism includes a rotary member, a servo unit, a telescopic member, and a biasing device. The rotary member for controlling a displacement of a hydrostatic transmission (HST) is pivoted outside of a casing incorporating the HST. The servo unit includes a telescopically movable actuator and a valve controlling the telescopic movement of the actuator. The actuator is interlockingly connected to the rotary member. The servo unit is pivotally supported on the casing via a first pivot. The servo unit rotates centered on the first pivot as the rotary member rotates according to the telescopic movement of the actuator hydraulically controlled by the valve. The telescopic member is pivotally supported on the casing via a second pivot. The telescopic member is provided with the biasing device that biases the telescopic member and the rotary member toward a position corresponding to a neutral state of the HST.
