    Abstract: A pipe connection structure according to one aspect of the invention is provided. The pipe connection structure includes a first pipe member and a second pipe member. A sealing portion of the first pipe member includes a first abutment surface in a tapered shape, a diameter of which is increased toward a tip of the first pipe member. An end of the second pipe member includes a second abutment surface in a tapered shape, a diameter of which is reduced toward a tip of the second pipe member. The second abutment surface is pressed and abuts against the first abutment surface. An abutment section of the second abutment surface and the first abutment surface is located on a radially inner side of an inner wall surface of the first pipe member.

    Abstract: 1. An apparatus, device, method, and system for fitting a pipe or other type of conduit, that may comprise an integrated watertight ring having an outer surface and an inner surface that are integrated into one piece for the purpose of installation, and wherein the inner surface is an elastomer. As the integrated watertight ring is tightened during installation, the inner surface preferably squeezes together for form a water-tight seal. For this purpose, it may be preferable for the inner surface of the integrated water-tight ring to be an elastomer such as, but not limited to, rubber, polybutadiene, polyisobutylene, and/or other polyurethanes. It may also be preferable for the integrated watertight ring to be a single-piece ring made of a combination of a rigid material and a compressible material that forms a seal when compressed. For ease of installation, it may be preferable for the integrated water-tight ring to be open ended for sliding the integrated water-tight ring over the conduit and/or base of the fitting, and later squeezed together by tightening a gland nut or other similar compression device as is known to those skilled in the relative arts.

    Abstract: Described is a fitting for coupling fluidic paths which facilitates secure and low leak rate fluid flow through a fluidic path junction such as a junction in a liquid chromatography system or other chemical analysis instrument. Fluid containing various mixtures of chemical samples can pass through the junction at high pressure with little or no trapped residue remaining in a volume at the connection. According to various embodiments, a face seal is achieved between two separate fluidic path features. In some embodiments, the sealing of the fluidic paths is aided by the use of a compliant polymer seal. The seal facilitates intimate contact between adjacent surfaces and significantly limits or prevents the entry of fluid under high pressure into an unswept volume. Thus the risk of carryover and its adverse effect on measurements is reduced or eliminated.

    Abstract: A sealing and restraint mechanism operable to couple pipes having a restraint mechanism with a cavity formed in an interior region, and a gripping insert operable to be received within the cavity. The cavity of the restraint mechanism is at least partially defined by a stop and a shoulder.     Abstract: A fitting for a tube or pipe capable of functioning a high pressures having a first fitting component adapted to receive the conduit end; a conduit gripping device such as a ferrule or ferrules and a second fitting component that can be joined to the first fitting component to cause the conduit gripping device to grip the conduit and seal when assembled. In one aspect of the invention, the first fitting component is constructed from a material that is softer than the material used to construct the second fitting component. An additional aspect of the invention include a retaining portion on the second fitting component that constrains the tube gripping device against pressure. The retaining portion can also be configured to retain the tube gripping device to the second fitting component prior to installation and in a finger-tight condition. A further aspect of the invention includes a first fitting component in which an exterior portion of the component is work hardened radially outward from the tube gripping device. The fitting may optionally be provided with a structure to effect the pull-up by torque functionality.
