The acoustic resonant chamber includes a primary air channel having side surfaces connecting an air inlet and an air outlet, the primary air channel having a primary air channel length between the air inlet and the air outlet. A closed-end resonant chamber is formed into a first side surface of the primary air channel, the closed-end resonant chamber having a resonant chamber length. The acoustic resonant chamber also includes a sound air channel having a sound air channel inlet on a second side surface of the primary air channel opposite to the closed-end resonant chamber and a sound air channel outlet for directing an air impingement airstream containing acoustic energy onto the material.

摘要: A drying apparatus and method including heated airflow and ultrasonic transducers. The ultrasonic transducers are arranged and operated for effectively breaking down the boundary layer to increase the heat transfer rate. The ultrasonic transducers are spaced from the material to be dried a distance of about (λ)(n/4), where λ is the wavelength of the ultrasonic oscillations and n is an odd integer (i.e., 1, 3, 5, 7, etc.). In this way, the amplitude of the ultrasonic oscillations is maximized to more-effectively agitate the boundary layer. In addition, the ultrasonic transducers are operated to produce about 120-190 dB (preferably, about 160-185 dB) at the interface surface of the material to be dried. In one embodiment, the ultrasonic transducers are of a pneumatic type. In another embodiment, the ultrasonic transducers are of an electric type. And in other embodiments, infrared and/or UV light devices are included for further boundary layer disruption.

摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for improving a screen printing process by applying vibrational energy to assist in the print release, cleaning, and drying processes. The vibrational energy or acoustic pressure waves may be created by a transducer where the waves are transferred to the stencil or printable material through air or a vibrational interface medium. The vibrational energy in turn assists with separating the printable material from the side walls of the apertures of the stencil. The vibrational energy can further assist in the process of cleaning the stencil. The acoustic pressure can also be used in the drying process by having the waves impinge on the water droplets to atomize the droplets on the surface of the stencil. The technology can be used for the assembly of Printed Circuit Assemblies, Ball Grid Array IC Packages, Flip Chip, etc. The same technology may be applied to other cleaning processes for cleaning Printed Circuit Assemblies, tooling, and the like, whereby the cleaning processes can assist in cleaning within the cracks, crevices and hard to reach areas of connectors and other components, without undesirable heat.

摘要: An arrangement is provided for removing foreign substances from a mirror. A vibrator for vibrating the mirror includes a vibration controlling unit for supplying power to the vibrator. As the vibration controlling unit is located close to the vibrator, the length of the conductive wire which transmits the power can be minimized so as to reduce radio noise. The heat generated by the vibration control unit can be radiated sufficiently through a metallic case member and the vibration controlling unit can be disposed in the closed, small space between the mirror and the housing. Therefore, the size of the housing can be reduced so as to minimize the space which surrounds the vibration control unit. Further, the vibration control unit can be protected from contamination due to the closed case member.

摘要: A system for drying microelectronic, optical and other parts which are rendered wet in the course of their processing, the system functioning rapidly to dry these parts so that they are free of contaminants. The system includes a drying chamber having a work zone in which the wet parts are held in a removable carrier resting on a stand, the work zone being heated to promote evaporation. Flowing through the work zone and passing over the wet parts is a gaseous stream which entrains vapors emitted from the parts and discharges the vapors from the chamber. To accelerate the evaporative process, a vibration generator is operatively coupled to the stand or to a vibration coupling device to impart vibrations thereto which are transmitted to the wet parts in the carrier, causing liquid drops on the surfaces of the parts to fractionate into droplets or to otherwise disperse and spread the liquid over a larger area, thereby greatly increasing the aggregate exposed surface area of the liquid.
