The light passing openings are respectively connected to two opposite sides of the accommodation chamber. The lens is disposed in the accommodation chamber and located between the light passing openings. The optical fibers are configured to be respectively disposed on two opposite sides of the lens and respectively aligned with the light passing openings. Each of the two optical fibers has a core sharing an optical axis of the lens. When a numerical aperture is NA, an axial distance between the optical fiber and the lens is D, an effective radius of the lens is H, a focal length of the lens is f, half of a maximum angle of cone is θ, the following conditions are satisfied: θ=sin−1(NA); and D=2f=H/(2*tan θ).

摘要: An optical waveguide device includes a wiring board, an optical waveguide, an optical path conversion mirror, a hole, and a lens component. The optical waveguide is disposed on the wiring board and includes first and second cladding layers and a core layer. The optical path conversion mirror is formed in the optical waveguide. The hole is formed in the first and second cladding layers and outside an optical waveguide formation region. The lens component is optically coupled to the optical path conversion mirror. The lens component includes a lens main body, a bump, and protrusion portions. The lens main body has a lens function. The bump is fixed to a structure including the wiring board and the optical waveguide, in the hole by a joining material. A diameter of a tip end of the bump of the lens component is smaller than a minimum diameter of the hole.

摘要: This embodiment provides an optical fiber head in which a lens can reliably be fixed to a case body by a simple configuration, and therefore the optical fiber head can easily be produced at low cost. The optical fiber head includes a light projecting fiber, a light projecting lens, and a case body accommodating and holding the light projecting fiber and the light projecting lens. A blocking unit in which an opening is formed, a light projecting lens inserting hole, and an optical fiber inserting hole are provided in the case body. The light projecting fiber is fixed to the case body while a leading end surface of the light projecting fiber abuts a rear end surface of the light projecting lens, so that the light projecting lens is fixed to the case body by being sandwiched between the blocking unit and the light projecting fiber in an axial direction.
